There's a pair of new tunes from Hartnoll brothers: Don't Stop Me and The Gun Is Good. They sound like a trip way back to Snivilisation. What do you think?

Strange the Buggles sample in "Don't Stop Me" o_O
I don't know what to think about the two track, it make me feel like old Orbital, not less, not more, good tracks but nothing exceptionnal...

Posting links is a no-no, but it's easy to Google.

Oh, it's a leak, ok. I thought you could officially pre-listen to them somewhere. Sorry, I freaked.

Listening right now... this is good, very good! There's so much mingling of old school and modern sound - it seems Orbital is embracing the modern world, while still holding on quite gracefully to its roots. Always unique, the Hartnolls.

New material from all the classic artists is coming out everywhere:

Daft Punk - Tron Legacy Soundtrack
Fatboy Slim - Machines Can Do The Work
Underworld - new album Barking
The Chemical Brothers - the greatest album of the century, FURTHER!!!
Orbital - are recording again!

With Justice planning to release an album this year, 2010 is looking awesome.

Have you heard their new "The Knife makes Opera" CD? I almost bought it a few weeks back, but it was rather pricey... thoughts?

Well, i´ve only heard excerpts on the Web and it´s quite quite weird. It´s the same "rock star doing strange music for a ballet or opera" thing, that I don´t enjoy at all...

What i keep expecting from them is something more like this...

Still thinking SILENT SHOUT is the best record of the noughties

I concur--Silent Shout was one of the best of the noughties. It's definitely one the best non-chemical album, that is certainly subjectively true.

I think Orbital sounds a bit boring when you're not playing Wipeout or watching/living a live set.

This sounds amazing :

Especially after 4:48, that bass would make anybody go crazy

They came to Aus last year, saw them in a small venue, 1200 people. They were great!
Further Remixed There's nothing else...

I think it was the 20th anniversary of Chime that got them motivated again.

Had a huge run of bad luck when it came to attending Coachella last year to see Orbital. But then I had a huge run of GOOD LUCK when they did a one-off show in San Francisco. Can't believe how fucking amazing it was--waited 10 years to see them live.

This song was the highlight of the set for me. Truly a psychedelic moment.
