How cool, why didn't that happen at the advanced screening?
I saw it again last night at my local cinema. It's amazing the things I spotted that I missed the first time.
I took my niece and her husband and my daughter and son. Everyone totally loved it. Well my daughter is hard to convince of anything, but my son is now a convert and the others couldn't stop raving about it. Still not loud enough though!
I really hope this is a commercial success for the Brothers, I imagine they invested a lot getting this out there. Can't wait for the DVD!

The movie is awesome, seeing it in on a big screen in a cinema is the next best thing to actually being at a live show.
The sound was really good, of course not as intense but loud enough.
And to my big surprise, there where even some people dancing. I thought that Austrians were way too much reserved to rave in a cinema, but eight or nine brave souls, me among them, just couldn't resist the beats
Looking forward to the DVD now!

The first complete concert record of a band has been performing for nearly 20 years and fills stadions all around the globe? I can't imagine this not beeing a success.
Most acts of this magnitude would've released at least two DVDs during two decades.

The damn theater spoiled the full immersion atmosphere for me a little, however. The sound in there didn't live up to the richness of the musical spectrum of a chems concert. I want to physically feel the music, too, fecking UCI Inc.!!! Guts need to get shaken up.
Next time I insist on a personal approval by Tom and Ed themselves of the appropriateness of the cinema's sound quality. Something like 'This cinema's good, this cinema's bad' type of certificate.
The movie itself was really good and refreshingly unusual. I would have some minor criticisms on some parts but all in all this was close to perfection.
It captured the emotional vibe the best you possibly can.
More in detail soon. I'm stoked.
Thanks, Adam for creating a masterpiece, thanks T+E for delivering the soundtrack

I'm glad to see that the movie clicked with so many people.
The parts with the japanese girl and her trip could certainly have been extended a bit just enough to recover from the previous track. Like the intro to Escape velocity was beautifully shot. But too many quick edits to really focus in on one thing, I felt like there are still a lot of parts of the story of the chemical brothers live that could have been included in the movie.
i'm thinking too much about this movie now and that is exactly what it didn't want the people to do. LOL don't think

I'm so pleased that the Chems have delivered this to their fans, I've never had the joy of experience the Chems live and this is the closely I may possibly ever get.
Thanks to everyone in the audience for making this extra special, 3/4 through there must have been 20 odd people in front of the screen dancing away. A special nod, if youre reading, to the two drunk Geordie lads standing up at their seats giving it all throughout.
Amazing, truly amazing, night. Thank you Tom and Ed, plus team.
(P.S. would have preferred if Odeon turned the volume up to 11 however, I wanted to feel the music as well as hear it!)

screening didnt start until 11.15pm so the packed audience was well and truly lubricated and up for it by then! it felt more like the start of a gig than a film.
the duke of york is a groovy independent picture house, when the first track played there were people up and dancing about, when HBHG kicked in the aisles were filling up, me and the crew got well involved. about 2/3rds of the way through the aisles were full, and everyone just started raving right in front of the screen.
there was something really profound watching silhouettes of the people in the cinema with their hands in the air watching saturate, as the shot panned back on screen to reveal silhouettes of people with their hands in the air watching saturate live and at top the mothership bathed in light overseeing it all - it was an amazing sight!
the film was excellent, the music was rocking and everyone was loving it.
it felt incredibly acid house to be raving somewhere a bit naughty, and what i really loved was how subversive it all felt - rave up in the cinema. excellent.
the thing that really struck me was the blurring between gig and film, which in itself felt really psychedelic.
a prime example of this was at the end everyone was whooping and cheering and calling for one more they cant hear you!!!! hahahaha
nice one tom ed and adam.

It was quite surreal seeing everyone raving in the Brixton Ritzy, but it all seemed natural really, as if we were at the gig.
It was a bit quiet to begin with, but some lovely girls asked the theatre peeps to turn it up and they duly obliged
There were only a few peeps dancing from the beginning but as soon as Chemical Beats dropped pretty much the entire theatre lept to its feet and megaraved Fucking amazing experience, cinema in true 4D
Can't wait for the Doovd
*edit: I took a pretty cool video of everyone raving to Believe (that breakdown and build up was immense). I will post it once I figure out how to compress it cos I shot it in HD and it's over 300MB, whoops!

Some dickhead also thought it would add to the sheer thrill of the film to go down to the front, raise his arms and start quoting from 300! A complete tool.
Film was every bit as good as I thought it was gonna be. Best 2 scenes for me where the longshot of the crowd during Saturate, and all of Don't Think. Japanese guys face as B.R.B. started was priceless. Great to see plenty of shots of Tom & Ed at work. Best track for me though was the Leave Home/Galvanize mix. Closely followed by Chemical Beats.
A great night! Shame about the dicks!

I thought this bit was hilarious. That bloke was really entertaining.
Also, what was with them turning the lights on when the film hadn't finished? They came on the exact moment the dancers left (Why did the dancers leave? Did they get thrown out?)

Since first hearing about it I've been unsure of what to make of seeing The Chems at a cinema, the thought of everyone sat watching in comfortable seats, popcorn and coca-cola in hand seemed a bit strange. So it was probably as much curiosity as being a fan that encouraged me to book the ticket.
Took this in at The Light Cinema in Leeds. The theatre was around half full when it started but was about 3/4 full by the end. Highlights for me were Horsepower (the galloping horse still rocks), Star Guitar (can't believe its ten years old now, christ!), as ever the epic buildup in Believe, and the long trippy transition from that to Escape Velocity, Don't Think and Superflash (a track I've previously not heard). Also really enjoyed the "vicinity" sequences, the big fella at the food stall and the miniature robot, I thought these were nice additions whch captured the experience, presumably they were acted out?
The tracks bringing the best reaction from the crowd were Swoon, EBW8 and BRB. A few ravers at the back by the end which I think brought about a few quiet words from a steward/bouncer. Would've loved to have got up myself but I was alone! Applause at the end from a seemingly impressed crowd. Only downsides were a few people talking loudly near me, a constant procession of individuals going in and out and one person taking flash photos of themself sat down with their phone!!
An interesting concept from the Brothers and the directors which I think has been executed very well.

Dancing at the cinema does feel a bit naughty, doesn't it? Proper picture-house etiquette gets chucked out the fire exits. It is just amazing to me to be reading about this worldwide cinematic rave movement. #Occupydontthink !
The blurring between gig and film felt really trippy to me as well. Almost like being at a show in this sort of displaced or alternate reality. The real world is a speck at the back of your mind, but sound and vision is taking you in and out of your head. This bit of topic is something I could talk about for hours, but that would be like talking codshit over tea at 7am after a night of raving, wouldn't it?

Laugh out loud moment indeed!! Those WTF moments, the moments of sheer joy, the Block Rockin Beats guy who looked like his eyes were about to spill over in tearful happiness, the Swoon couple, the 2 people lying together on the festival grounds who seemed to be in their own universe, our cute Japanese heroine "tigerrr rarrrrrr". The arms stretched skyward. People losing their shit and losing themselves. People caught off guard because it is OK for let their guard down, and just be. The film captured what it feels to be human and alive at an event like this. I love the crowd reaction to everything in that film! They are so endearing and it sounds totally cheesy but I just want to hug them all hahaha
