I really think that "Don't Think" and "Pourquoi" are awesome DJ tunes. I can imagine a whole crowd of clubbers dancing and jumping to these amazing tracks. Maybe they would sound strange in the live set but they would perfectly fit a DJ Set IMO.
Unfortunately, these tracks are still "unreleased". Pourquoi is digital only and Don't Think appears only on the Japanese CD and in the iTunes version of Further. They don't exist on vinyl.
And as we all know, great DJs play only vinyls (eternal discuss...) and I honestly would like to be able to buy them. I mean physically buy them,.
Clearly, these tracks appear to me as EBW 11 and 12. You might disagree, but I think that a disc with Don't Think on one side and Pourquoi on the other would be double-sided awesomeness.
So, who agrees ?
Btw, don't tell me I should STFU and buy the god damn digital versions, I just want to buy a fucking disc of these tracks. There's nothing wrong with that.

We had no physical release for Swoon, and EV was promo only. So I'm not sure that Horse Power will be released physically but I hope it will as well !
Don't Think and Pourquoi might become b-sides, yeah, I don't care as long as I can buy them.

I've always thought the Swoon single to be a promotional thing, not a true single. It makes sense - you release a promo of EV on vinyl to catch the attention of more serious electronic listeners, and release the straightforward Swoon Radio Edit digitally to catch the attention of the general public. With all the remixes popping up, I'd bet that standard physical singles of Swoon and Horsepower (and maybe Dissolve?) are coming soon.
Back on topic, that is a good idea. They are experimental and EBW-y and a release like that would go over well. But I'm with InChem. They'll likey appear as b-sides (well, Don't Think should, it's possible that Pourquoi is an iTunes Pass exclusive).

I'm all for being able to buy anything Chems in physical format!
Even though I have these 2 songs digitally, I would jump at the chance to have these on CD (I don't have a decent enough turntables to justify beefing up my vinyl collection anytime soon).
Releasing music in physical format would be a costly endeavor, I would imagine, in today's digital world - things have changed so much in the industry, how music is sold and all that. I think it might be up to the label to determine whether or not physically releasing these tunes would pay off. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens and keep hope alive!

One thing I thought was cool is that Caribou went around this problem by selling CD's at their shows with unreleased what have you and recordings, they then don't have to make too many and they can give people another reason to go to the live show. Or maybe selling stuff online in FLAC format, no love for Vinyl there, but at least you'd get CD quality downloads.

The idea of buying the vinyl and getting a code to download the mp3 is a very good one to.

I would just like to know how I can get a legitimate copy of Pourquoi, I'm not bothered by format (altho I would prefer it digitally for my own DJ sets)

Yes, ive done this before, brilliant idea, allways nice to collect the vinyl and still listen on your laptop.
I don't think format that dj's play off really matters, at the end of the day its about the music they play. I went to a warehouse a few weeks back, some of the djs used vinyl whilst Richie Hawtin used tracktor, I like it when people like Hawtin use technology and ideas from music production to enhance and make a 'dj' set more live and unique. People say that its boring useing a laptop/midi controllers, but I think it depends on the dj playing.

And that's disappointing :/
Soon, the term "disc-jockey" won't make sense any more. They'll have to be called "mp3-jockey".

word. laptop and a nice midi can make the people go crazy. with technology the job description of a dj changes (like nearly anything else).
with traktor i don't have to mix anymore (i have to, but not like a vinyl/cd dj). instead, i can focus on looping my favorite vocals into another track, build massive build ups, do a live remix. i also have four decks in every club i play! as a laptop dj you can also drop the latest tracks. just download...10 secs later i can spin it.
SHIT...so OFFTOPIC!
btw: can't believe the brothers not letting press don't think/pourquoi on vinyl. don't think is a massive battle weapon and pourquoi is a nice little dj tool as well; perfect to play in the beginning of a minimal/tech house set....very club friendly. love to see more tracks like pourquoi which are not as massive as EBW's but just to drop during a relaxed dj set. know what i mean? a EBW light under an alias (the dust brothers, oh wait, NO
will drop pourquoi this weekend in a nice little dance club. curious about how it will work on the floor
