Hey guys and girls!

I have been playing the guitar for 7 years now. I was a bit bored about it so I decided to try something new. Unfortunatly I couldn't afford to buy some analog synth like our beloved chems!

I have just bought :

- a MIDI keyboard : cme uf 50

- a Soundcard : Presonus audiobox with Sutdio one artist and Cubase.

I am going to buy some monitoring headphones too.

I have been messing around with the moog plugin since friday, it's pretty cool!

Don't you know any other good (and free) VST/Tutorials?

Feel free to give me some advice too!

Thanks!

(My english sucks, I'm french :p)

I don't think most people here do electronic music as much as they listen to it. You might want to ask the same question at the forum at Vintagesynth.com and they'll bombard you with information. I think they have a forum secion for software synths. Good luck!

It's not a free VST, but you can find it on some torrent sites. The Korg Legacy collection of VST's are amazing. Great sounds, easily manipulated.

Personally, if you're interested in free vst's that are supposed to be free, usually by the (God forbid) willingness for developers to attribute to the creative pool with out any sort of financial compensation, you both should check out:

good list of freebies. I always wanted to see if I or someone else could write an amazing electronic album with nothing but free VST's, not counting crappy flat-electronic..

This site contains one of the biggest vst libaries to date. No matter if commercial or free ones. It's (almost) all there.

I have just downloaded The Korg Legacy collection, it sounds great! I love the way you can plug some wire on the MS20.

Thank you a lot for the other links, I'will check it out!

@Bill "always wanted to see if I or someone else could write an amazing electronic album with nothing but free VST's". I'll try, and probably fail but it's ok :)

The Monopoly is great too. That's the two VSTs I use all the time. The main synth of my last track is 3 MS-20 layered together.

A personal favorite of mine is Albino 3 but you will have to "purchase" it. Noisia and Bachelors of Science use it.

there are a LOT of free VST's out there and there is no need to download warez.
KVR audio has everything you need as freeware. same goes for samples: there is a huge collection of samples from vintage synths by hollow sun available somewhere on the net (official site went down... strange..)
all the drum samples you ever need: http://hexawe.net/me....Drum.Machines/
good free plugs:

a list of vst instruments, pick a few you like:

have fun making music!
