Listening to TPPR for the first time I didn't really like it that much, I thought there were to many beats colliding at once, and it didn't sound right to me. But in the last few days or so I put it on and listened to it and i've really got into it, and every time i listen to it, the more i start to like it. and i'm starting to like TGP a bit more as well as I used to, to be honest the vocals from that dude from The Flaming Lips put me off at first. there's nothing wrong with the sound and stuff like that, Anything the chemicals make i love!, maybe they could of done a bit better with the vocals, but anyway thought i'd let ya know. 8)

The same thing sort of happened to me when I initially listened to DYOH. The whole album was so different to anything I had listened to before. It felt just very loud and noisy. I'm not sure about the growing thing but I think that these tracks tend to sound better when you know how the song progresses. You're not so alerted of all the strange noises and can just feel the groove. And it's then when all those strange noises come into play too.

I think TPPR is generally rated so high because apart from being a true owner track it is a true epic also. I'm not too fond of TGP. It's not the vocals especially, the track just doesn't create so much of a response from me. Unless ... I happen to watch the video. :)

I find when I listen to edits of songs, I cant get into them. They have no build up and the climax is brought in way to strong. Especially with Elektrobank. That is true, you do respect a song much more and get into much more when you understand the progression.

I like the edits of It began in Afrika and Star guitar, probably because they were the versions of the track I heard first and hold a few memories, but generally I don't like edits. Its basically the chems trying to cram everything into 4 minutes, sometimes listening to them hears you crying out "let me listen to the full one please!!"

Yeah, like the edit in Block Rockin' Beats video ... that's messed up.
