Ah, you had to drag U2 in this didn't ya? ;)

So Cruel is *not* U2's best song!!

And Setting Sun is not the best Chems tune!!

(opinion, of course)

Not gonna touch Coldplay or Franz because I don't know them well enough.

If you want to talk about the differences and similarities between U2 and the Chems, I'm keen on both so I'd be more than happy to oblige you!

Me too. If You are talking about genres of music, Setting Sun is a special tune wchich sound more rocky than others. It's more standard-sounding song that all that scratchy, braekbeaty stuff. Peopples may thinking about some rocky band if they listen to Setting Sun. BTW this track is not best of chems for me.

I have to say I agree with you there. I followed U2 for so long, their music meant a lot to me and still does but they lost me around Pop. It's like they moved on without me and it took me a long time to get over that. I can respect them for being the biggest band in the world and doing what they do, but their last 2 records... meh, it's as though U2 were on autopilot when they were made.

X-D In 1991, before Achtung Baby came out, I was studying over in England and my friend (dubbed my U2 sister) flew out to visit me. We had a semester break and we took the opportunity to go to U2 Mecca: aka Ireland. On our travels, we made our way out of Dublin (where we visited their old studio, Windmill Lane because that was mandatory for stalker freaks like us) and stayed in the town of Dalkey because that's where part of Achtung Baby was recorded. Thanks to a little old nun we met on the train who knew someone who had a bed and breakfast in town.

Anyway, we went walking up near Killarny, because, as you know, it was rumoured Bono had a house there, and my friend and I were young and silly and absolutely crazed. We'd also heard there was a lookout point where an obelisk was, and you could have a great view of the bay. So we're walking, and a car pulls up next to us and says, "You do know that's Bono's house there... but watch out for the security cameras across the way because that's where the Canadian ambassador lives and his house is wired and he will call the authorities." So we booked it, and huffed and puffed all the way to the top of this hill where the obelisk was. It was a great picture taking spot!

I wasn't really sure that was Bono's house or not, until a couple years later I saw a picture of it in a magazine. Funny how stuff like that works out!

I was a big U2 fan until the last record, Atomic Bomb. Never before have I been so disappointed.

If you're talking about recent releases, you're not far from the mark. However, both are excellent live! The only place it matters!

Er... what?

Setting Sun is not the Chems best, So Cruel is not U2's best, Politik is Coldplay's best (and Coldplay isn't an awfully good band), and I haven't an opinion on Franz best.
He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

Chems: It Began In Afrika (single version)

Coldplay: Daylight

Franz Ferdinand: Darts of Pleasure

U2: Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me

And, I think I may be the only person who loves U2's Pop. Great singles off that album. Love Discotheque...... 8O
