Yeah, that sequence with the Crazy 88 mob was geyserific- it's no wonder the candy I bought before the show went uneaten. Thank god Tarantino had the sense to cut to black and white, then silhouette or I'm sure people might've tossed their cookies. Then again the whole movie played out like a comic book sort of, and the violence especially in that particular scene was exaggerated and very anime. But I also wonder if the b/w portion of that scene were ordered by head honchos for the film to get an R rating.
From what I read, Tarantino wanted to release Kill Bill as one long 4 hour movie (or something to that effect.) Miramax films wouldn't let him, they said that was too long so they made him cut the movie in half. Well, at least that's what I read anyway. It seems Miramax just wanted the money for a 2 part film originally intended to flow as one flick. Which I think personally sucks, I don't like those kinds of cliff hangers in films, it's bad enough waiting for Return of the King. Good for Miramax films though, the bloodsuckers will be getting more than their fair share out of people who will dish out more money to see vol. 2. I will be seeing the 2nd installment of Kill Bill, mainly because I found the story of revenge intriguing, Uma Thurman kicks butt, Tarantino did a great job with teh story (it doesn't cut to the brilliance and ingenuity of Pulp Fiction, nor does it match the nitty gritty of Resevoir Dogs) and there's that whole thing at the end of vol. 1 that threw me for a loop, so I want to know how things turn out in the end. But dammit it all. It costs $9.50 per movie ticket where I live, it's outrageous imo. That's $19 on just a movie if my husband and I want a night out to watch a film. And that don't include a bucket of popcorn and some Red Vines.

What I heard was that Tarantino just went and did a film that he himself liked and it just naturally stretched to four hours or so. So the industry wanted it to be cut into two pieces and there was no disagreement. It's kinda annoying though. I think I'm going to wait (and resist the urge) for the second part and watch it straight from start to finish.

I didn't see the complete movie. I only saw till the part where Uma /es Lu's head. My friend was disgusted by that scene and left the cinema and obvioulsly i had to follow him because he was my ride home. Made a big mistake taking him with me to watch that movie. He was scared as hell. LOL.... It costs like $6.50 per ticket (that's student discount) so lovely.i will watch it again with my sister who happens to enjoy Tarantino movies. Has anyone bought the soundtrack?

I saw it, it was a blast. All of Tarintino's films are good. All of them are classics. EVEN JACKIE BROWN. I do not understand the hate for that movie. I guess people just got bored watching a more dramatic film that centers around a middle aged black women...
Anyway, Kill Bill is probablly my favorite. It was incredible (at least what I saw) and I cannot wait for V.2
The blood was bad but didn't bother me so much as I thought it would. I heard reports it was going to make audiences hurl...
