daft punk always seems to divide the people on this forum with such contrasting opinion with whats rock and what ain't. for the record homework is pure genius, discovery is a pure let down and human after all is.... bizarre.

I really like Discovery for some strange reason. It's a bizarre album, but it takes me on a trip. Homework is, of course, classic. Haven't heard the new one yet.

Discovery is the first album I ever bought, and its what led me into electronic music, so max respect for that album. 8)

Yeah, but blowing $15 on something almost everyone says is crap isn't my idea of good money management! :D That being said, I'll probably pick it up sooner or later.

I haven't even heard 'Robot Rock'. The song has gotten approximately ZERO airplay/videoplay over here.

i think they've got some nice basic approaches but "never" round them up to a real good track, particularly hearable on "Human after all". Some songs start really promissing but then the same loop reiterates times and times which can be annoying at some point. I own Discovery which is nice, but their latest album was a bit disappointing. They should go further, and they way of that disstorted voice is gonna be boring after the x.th album...

UUuummm... HELLO?!?!

They're the absolute kings of the vocoder! No one can do it quite like them. So no, they shouldn't give the vocoder up beacause it's probably their most valuable trademark :D

yeah it's certanly the main feature of them but i dunno, in almost all songs? I said they're making nice songs but they ain't enough diversified for me. They limit their sound potential which they obviously have! using or focusing on that, i think. It's a personal view.

Look at that (the first post) :

http://frenchtouch.f...pic.forum?t=659

Basically it says that Human After All was done very quickly to end the contract with Virgin and that the Dafts are preparing something much more huge :)

And this is no intox, this comes from someone reliable.
