I have a feeling both these will grow on me in a profound way, just as all Chems tunes do. Can't wait to hear them in all their glory on a decent system :D

Controversial start but i'm just not a fan of EBW8. It just seems a little messy in places, and seems to lack direction. To me it just doesn't sound like an EBW track. The glitchy minimal style techno over the top at the start, kinda puts me off
EBW9 is a totally different story!! What a track!! Huge bass, cowbells, dirty vocodared vocals - what more can I ask for. Tbh my favourite EBW is 7, and I think that 9 is closer to that. I just want to be in a dark room somewhere this Xmas and listen to 9 hammering out, hands in the air. Can't wait for this to be released next year. I've got 6 & 7 on vinyl so looking forward to getting my grubby mits on this :D

yeh i know what u mean actually, ebw 8 doesnt sound like a typical battleweapon - its a bit too melodic and albumy. havin said that i dont really care because i love it anyway, but i hear where u are coming from.
cant wait to hear EBW 9 on NYE 8)

I wish I was coming to see the Chems on NYE :( I really wish I'd gone down last year but pulled out at the last minute. However I'll be dancing to Eric Prydz so should still be a good night (Thats his DJ set, not some cheesy club playing Call On Me!! X-D )
Yeah EBW8 is more album like, reminds me of Star Guitar(ish)

You're on the money with EBW 9. Amazingly big tune, rave on the cowbell. Cooooowwwwwbellllllll!!! The song's tailored for a dark room, sweating bodies and fists pumping the air. Wild abandon! I can't imagine how insane the response is going to be when this one drops on NYE.

I've the two electronic battle weapon (8 & 9) and I'm a bit disappointed
I think they are less forcefull and inspired than the last (5 to 7)
Particularly the 9 who is a techno track I think unless originality...
What do you think about ?
But a good news: the next album will be released in may 2007 ! officially !

Of course you are more than welcome to your opinions but I will have to respectfully disagree with you about the new Electronic Battle Weapons. While 8 may seem less forceful than previous EBW's, I think the Chems broke the mold with that one. It was totally unexpected and to me they took a risk with this one because... it was unexpected. People expect the Battle Weapons to be these strong, forceful tracks and #8 thinks outside of the box and so far the response it has gotten here has been really positive.
As for 9 not being forceful, it might be wise to listen again. ;) I know I am prone to momentary lapses in hearing things properly but I strongly feel this is a very powerful track! There's a dirtiness, a rawness to it that's begging for a dancefloor with people on it. Those acid sounds, those stuttering sirens inspire memories of when I used to go clubbing and raving regularly.
We all have our opinions but I don't think it's fair to say either of these tracks were not inspired!

In fact, I don't think those track are bad, but I think they are less good than precedents electronic battle weapon not by the punch, but by the melody and the sound...
Do you remember "you are all my chiuldren nooooooow" ?
The bass from "under the influence" ?
The out of space sounds of "EBW6" ?
The magic tribal of "it began in afrika" ?
I think the last EBW 8 & 9 are less memorable than precedent, they are more basics and trite (I don't know if it mean what I feel)
So this is my opinion, we will see in many years when EBWs will be older who have reason... lol
cheers

but honestly tho i agree it's not a dark dingy heavy acid ball squasher (infact quite the opposite), it's a BEAUTIFUL tune, and very very danceable - i can't wait to hear what people have to say when 8's dropped at open air festivals. i for one will surely melt.
and yes 9 tho has grown a lot on me, i somehow still don't find it as ballsy as 7, and acid children. those two tracks defined dark heavy acid ballsy dance music to me and 9 still doesnt do that.
i'm really very sure i'm gonna go ape over it once i have the cd. there's not a single chemical tune till date i haven't absolutely loved.
sneaker n glako - are u talkin bout the vinyl? someone tell me the cd'll be out soon!!! does a vinyl out mean we'll have a much higher quality online rip soon?
and yes on a sidenote a friend just got back from tokyo, n he left me bout 35 new discs i can't imagine what to do with. everything is highly recommended - ninety percent are mixes, i'm starting with the basics - all the chems live sets i've been dying to get my paws on. i've got a'lease 7-8 here! :)
