For proper Hip Hop and generally brilliant music:

Q Tip's 'The Renaissance' would be my No1. album for 2008.

Common's 'Finding Forever' (2007) is terrific.

Check out this N*E*R*D tune: "Yeah You". Smooth and soulful.

The Raveonettes!

A Danish rock duo whos inspired by the Everly Brothers, but this track reminds me of surf music and good mellow vibes. Been listening to this for the last 4 days and this song really has that universal appeal to me. Gave me a break from the other crap I've been listening to. Also reminds me of Jesus and Mary Chain.

Yuksek's album is out, and it's really good. Kinda halfway between The Presets and Justice. But better

I missed them in LA on the 24th last month.

Listening to 'Little Animal'. For those who don't know, it's about a girl who likes to fuck!

I saw that Legendary Pink Dots (truly one of the strangest bands of all time) have a song called Laguna Beach, so I bought it this morning, hahaha.

I'm thinking of buying some M83. I saw them at Coachella in 2005 and they were awesome, but I never went and bought any tunes (shameful, I know). I've been sampling them on iTunes lately and I've come to the conclusion that I really must own some of their music immediately because I'm a sucker for swirling, epic and melodic musical tapestries. My problem is I don't know what to buy because I'm digging it all and now I'm overwhelmed. Saturday = Youth sounds good, but I'm still undecided. Is anyone here a fan? Should I just get some singles and mix and match or would I be better suited to buy a whole album. Please recommend!

Why is there a huge pedobear up there? ,:[

Haha, well, that raveonettes song is quite nice.

I suggest "Sonic Jihad" by River Snake Conspiracy. They do a quite good cover of a Smiths song, but all the tracks are quite awesome!

Pedobear is EVERYWHERE

Listen to Lust Lust Lust if you liked that Raveonettes song, it's decent ;)

It's pretty much impossible to do a decent cover of a Smiths track. Mark Ronson is the only guy who has pulled it off.

I'm diggin this group Gang Gang Dance. They use a weird blend of many electronic genres. I would almost describe them as a better Groove Armada. Check it out:

I got Arnaud Rebotini's album. What made me want to get the album was all the vintage synths and drum machines on the cover. And I was not disapointed.

Rebotini is the producer of the electro-metal band Black Strobe. This album is full of old synths sounds : Juno 60, MonoPoly, SH 101, Juno 2, JX-3P and 8P... All without a lot of effects. Most of the tracks are a bit improvised. The Roland TR series (especially 707) is all over the drums, and really well used, sounds very alive sometimes, like someone playing the drums

Biff you should apreciate that

Mnll and The Swamp Waltz sound amazing. The rest from there is a little boring. Although, I muchly appreciate the vast use of good 'ol vinatge synths!
