The worst incident I heard of over the four days was one girl had her cell phone stolen. Other than that, I'm sure there were some drug casualties, but I never heard of any violence or thefts.

Meh. We have our moments, too. We're usually too stoned to be of much bother to anyone except fastfood workers, but shit happens.



A bunch of cycling protesters were assaulted by police a couple of weeks ago 10 minutes from my house.

Yeah, the front half of the festival was absolutely wicked and while the back half lagged a bit, it was still a great weekend. Very pleased to have gone. Starting to feel the party vibe come back now that it's been a few days and I've hung out with everyone since again.

Just got the e-newsletter from the Liquor Commission and.....



we've now got Piraat in Winnipeg! Yay!!!!!



Also arriving are some Belgium bottle-fermented brews, and a 2 litre bottle of Christoffel Blonde (a really nice Dutch beer). I'm stoked. Let's get drunk!

Oh man, I'm battered. Still really sick from my cold, doped up on Cold & Flu pills. Drank a very large Slurpee with about 8-10 ounces of vodka and got very, very stoned. Took a lot of self-control not to trip out hard.... or to puke. :) I am so dehydrated my nostrils have become mummified. ;)



Enjoyed the night sky and a playground and hanging with friends that I don't see that much these days.



Now I need to get sleep so I can go to the beach in the morning.

Vodka slurpee seemed just the thing to relieve my sore throat. :)



It was fun though and we went wandering through the woods and got lost. It was rather psychedelic actually. And I was smart enough not to take any more cold meds that night. Don't worry. :)



Today with my day off we went to the beach and got really baked. Then I ate far more pizza than any one man should consume. I'm exhausted.

Went to see MSTRKRFT DJ tonight and have to say that they rocked it fairly. Unfortunately I was on my own tonight, and I have to say solo clubbing isn't quite as shitty as I was expecting. Had an energy drink, a giant beer, and a fat joint before heading in. Opening DJ (whose name escapes me) was playing funky electro before The Juan MacLean moved things to the deeper, classic Chicago side.



Eventually MSTRKRFT turned up and rocked the shizzy. Lots of great tunes and a mashup of "Shout It All Out" acapella over Digitalism - Zdarlight and concluding with the theme song from "Cheers" ("Where everybody knows your name"). An encore with Metric - Monster Hospital (MSTRKRFT remix) ensues.



A third joint of the evening, a bit of ice cream, and a quick spin on the computer follow, proving that solo clubbing can be fun provided you ply yourself with drugs and alcohol prior.
