My apologies forumers for my Lily Allen topic. Had no idea it would cause such a storm, just assumed everyone was into the behind the scenes thing, my mistake. My comments on the matter were a joke, which you lot should have really got seeing as you know my style.

Please don't take my closing that thread as something I did to make you (or anyone for that matter) look bad. I personally did not see anything wrong with talking about what's already in "the news". This whole Chems in the tabs is a new thing and the Chems have always been rather private people. I think we respect their privacy, but when something's in the tabs then it's only natural that discussion will follow. It's just the nature of the beast. It's weird, because it's mentioned in rags over here in the States too. There's no rules and regulations here, my big thing is I like it when things are civil on the forum. My reason for closing your thread had more to do with nipping things in the bud not because it had to do with what's currently in the tabloids, but I saw things beginning to turn ugly between people I respect and like here. And that's something I really don't want to happen...

Nobody complained when i opened a topic to congratulate Tom with the newest addition to the family, so i don't see why people complain now. No harsh things have been said and lets be honest, it's really cool news that Ed's dating Lily!

Nothing wrong with talking about those things, imo. Unless people start talking bad about Ed or Lily or anybody for that matter.

No, Slipvin if you can't understand my reasoning for closing the thread to avoid it becoming a bitch fest or complaint forum over what should/should not be talked about between people here, then then that's your problem. I remember in the early days of me joining this forum there would be open talk about the Brothers private lives because people are interested in the men behind the magic which is fair enough. If you're in the public eye, your personal life is something you have to accept as becoming public, that's the price people pay for fame. I'm not saying it's right, it's just the law of the land.

My point being, back then, we were not aware of Eds presence on the forum so we could speak freely as we should and not worrying about offending the Brothers. Then when it became apparent that Tom and Ed had an active role in the forum it seems to me that some users in particular censor themselves, or others from having their say in case of upsetting one of the brothers. So some of you tip toe about where as I and people like Slipvin (even though I hate the bastard) say what we want regardless of who's watching. This is a public forum for the publics eyes, we don't need a mother to protect us.

One of the reasons I left in the first place was because I didn't feel I could go mad and type what I want because it'd be locked or deleted.

So anyway, it's something that had to be said and I didn't want to have to say it but I said it, it's just I hope what I've said can be taken on board rather than being ignored.

I wouldn't have closed it if so many people only joined in to complain about why the discussion was taking place to begin with. I am damned if I do, damned if I don't - it's what comes with being a mod. For the record mx started a thread about Ed and Lily about a month ago which was completely deleted by other mods. Why his was closed and why yours can be open... you'll just have to fight about it amongst yourselves.
