I'm said Canadian guy and I will be arriving in Indio Friday afternoon. I will be reachable at wherever Whirly and 'stash are.... at least until they get sick of me and throw me out of their car at 40 mph! :-// 8O
Well, hopefully not, but until Sunday morning when they go back home. Sunday, on the other hand, I hope some of the rest of you will still be around for a day of fun and music.
I really have to start packing. It's going to be an exercise in selective packing to fit 8 days worth of crap into one, maybe two, small backpacks. Not that I'm bringing much, but I believe in being (somewhat) prepared.
I'm also hoping my tickets arrive in the mail tomorrow, or else the worry will be kicking in. I really don't want to call Ticketbastard to tell them their fucking tickets didn't show up before I had to board the bus.
Anyone needing to reach me between now and Tuesday night (I get on the bus Wednesday morning and may be incommunicado between then and Friday) can PM me or post here, etc. I check the forums pretty frequently, and will likely be home tomorrow (Monday) night.

Oh yeah, it's out in the middle of nowhere. It's just south of Joshua Tree National Monument, where those irish wankers, what were they called? some gay, artsy 2 letter name.... T3? no no, U2, that's it, where they shot the cover for that album....
it's very cool, and at night you can see a lot more stars than most people are used to. It's almost 3 hours drive from our house, but Whirly and I used to drive out there in the middle of the night, just to lay out on a blanket and watch the sky. WE've gone out there to see a couple of comets, and you almost always see meteors.
Of course, when Coachella is playing, you often see aliens.

Ah fuck, I just found out my babysitter, AKA my mom, got a new job and she starts tmrw, so we won't be able to leave our house until around 7 or 8 PM... any earlier and the traffic is just nightmarish, so we won't be out in Indio until 9 or 10 pm.

well, the problem is that I'm not sure exactly when we'll be out there. Denny's is ok, there really aren't any bars in Indio that any of us would want to go in... there's that Beer Hunter place that Darkstar found, but that's over in La Quinta.... the problem with the desert out there is the distances are all dialated... everything is farther away than it should normally be.
