I'm actually no tech crack (although i'd like to be one, maybe time will show ) but I must say I'm pretty fond of my axiom 49. It's quite handy and you can do a lot of things with it. You've got fairly lots of controllers (9 touch pads) you can link to your software buttons and knobs. There are also half weighted keys which I really like. In addition, you get the Enigma Software for free download that helps you creating your own midi maps and stuff. There's a pitchwheel and a modulating wheel, also an illuminated display.

But I can't say what's distingushing it from others. If you're a noob like me and not a pro you'd probably like it too. It's got a good price-performance ratio.

Ah, and I forgot to say that there's a light version of Ableton Live 4 that comes with the package. It's no big deal but why not mentioning it :-)

So it was the last day working with us for one of the guys in the phone shop so we decided to make sure he had all the awkward customers and annoying jobs. That was cool but then after a while i decided to give him a task that set us all in tears laughing. Say the word 'important' as many times as possible while talking to a customer. He wasn't too interested at first so I upped the anti, telling him that if he could do it 10 times, I'd give him 50 bucks.

We all kept ouselves looking busy while he gave it a shot...the conversation went something like this..

"Hi there, how can I help you?"

I've got a problem with my phone...

"that seems pretty important, what seems to be the problem?"

Well, I was told the SIM card needs to be replaced...

"yeah, SIM cards are important to the phone(starting to choke a bit), I'll get one for you...(turns back to customer to regain composure)"

What do you think might have happened to the SIM?

"It's not really that important...if..the SIM card goes...just..if ...eh ...hang on....(bright red he looks at the floor)"

What's...eh?

"I'm sorry Miss,(points at one of the girls we work with, looking in a press at the back of the store, not paying attention) she's making me laugh!"

At this point, me being such a child, I've curled up in a ball with tissues on my eyes cos I'm crying so much in the office with the door open, listening to this.

I can't really remember what was said next but I let out a yelp of laughter that set off everyone else working there. It was the best monday ever.

Don't worry though, the customer got her SIM and everything worked out at 5 'important's, so I've still got my 50quid.

If any of you want to know what it's like where I work now, check the video on this page http://www.bebo.com/...mberId=20691569

That's me nearest the camera on a particularly bad hair day, not knowing the right words to the song...There's another to follow that we made last night, will post that one up when it comes.

Edit: didn't realise that was such a mega-post....
