I know this isn't a new topic to bring up, but I can't help but to hear a lot of the Beatles in every Chemical Brothers Records, especially Surrender obviously...but also in PTB. Marvo Ging has that funky Mcartney Bass line. Do the Chemicals site the Beatles as major influences? Does anyone else hear it??

Let Forever Be sounds like a track the Beatles would've made if they were still together (and alive).

I've read that. And also one of my friends told me. I had never listened to Beatles cos I thought their songs are all like "peace, happy yellow submarine..." kinda stuff(cos those kinda songs are very very famous in Japan) but the other day, I actually listened to it at my friend's house. I thought it was so cool, like Beatles is a band in 70's? 60's? Sorry for not knowing but yeah, in 60's and 70's there wasn't a band who could make that kinda sound, right? And I'm sure there're loads and loads of ppl who are influenced by them... Not only band but also DJs...

obviously there is not a lot in common btw the chems and the early beatles era (four lads in suits singin gentle pop "she loves you..." songs), but the (mid 60's) beatles had a massive influence on western music in the last quarter on the 20th century(including, obviously, the chemical brothers), as the brought psychedelia, indian influences, recording tricks (tape loops, reversed sounds, pitch artifacts...) to a wide audience. I mean when you listen to revolution 9, strawberry fields forever or Tomorrow never knows, it seems incredible those were dones decades before the first samplers and digital recording tools.

managing to get really experimental, yet make good, accessible music is something common the the Beatles and the brothers, indeed.

No...I'm not taking the piss outta anyone... I really wasn't sure... :'(

As I wrote, I thought the Beatles' songs were all like "Love me do" and stuff like that. So I wasn't interested to them AT ALL til my friend told me about them. Aw... There's not an excuse for this... is there...? :'(
