Anyone played Battlefield 2142? any good?
I played the beta, and i've been wanting to pic it up, but I just haven't bothered yet. BF2 is one of my all time favorite games, but 2142 just doesn't bring much to the table. It's almost a dumbed down version of BF2.
Also, it's got this persistent ranking and upgrade system, where the more points you've scored, the better weapons you can unlock. I'm worried now that if I start, I'm gonna suck ass, and won't even be able to move up because everyone else already has all this rockin shit. It's not just guns, you can upgrade your speed, health and armor too.

So I was playing Wario Ware with my Brother on the Nintendo Wii, and I totally strained a muscle in my lower back. For those of you who don't know how Wario Ware works, it's basically a quick series of mini games which you have a short amount of time to complete. And with the Wii remote you have to complete these mini games by using some really weird "positions/movements". But as you get further along in the game, the pace of the game quickens.
So when I was playing I was pretty far into the game where it was at a very fast pace. And the next mini game that I was required to do was the "samurai sword" pose. Which is basically holding the Wii remote on your cross-side like a samurai, and then pulling out in front of you. Anyways, the mini game flashed the sign for "samurai sword", so I quickly got into position. Then mini game appeared and I had to chop this very fast falling wood block into half before it reached the bottom of the screen. So as I saw this block of wood come down the screen, I lashed out my Wii remote enthusiastically in the "samurai sword" movement/position, and totally threw out my back muscle as well. I was quite pissed because I was on pace to beat my brothers personal best, and then I fall short because of injury. :P
Anywho, enough boring Vidya game stories and I'll let you know what I just purchased for my Bro for X-mas.
I got him that Wii remote extension called the Wii "Zapper". Which basically turns the Wii remote and makes it look like a gun. And then along with that I got him the new Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, which you can use the Wii Zapper in. So I'm kinda curious into seeing how this "Zapper" works. It's probably nothing too special, but it looks cool.
Oh yeah, and before I bought the Wii Zapper, I thought I could be a hot shot and get it for cheap on Ebay and accidently bid and won a phony Wii "Zapper".....Oh well, back on Ebay it goes!
Edit:
And one last thing........., it looks like I might be eating my words with the PS3.... GTA4 is coming out in March (from what I heard), and the previews for that game look amazing. I just might dish out the cash for that one, when the time comes...

Ah, I love Wario Ware. It's a good time, especially while with friends. And you can easily turn it into a drinking game!
I'm still playing Warcraft III, eagerly awaiting Starcraft II. And if I had money I'd go buy an Xbox 360 for Beautiful Katamari. It's amazing.

Owie, Bosco. Owie!!
The Wii Zapper sounds like a good girft to get my son. He's gearing up on the Wii again... I think he has a hunch he's getting that Mario Galaxy game for Christmas, so he's been practicing.
I don't really get the whole console wars thing - both consoles have their good points, and those i know with an XBox aren't disappointed, and those with the PS3 aren't bummed out either. But if you do get a PS3, I'm sure you won't be let down. WBetween games and DVD upgrades plus Blue Ray, we get a lot of use out of it so it was money well spent. There's some awesome looking games, plus the Playstation store has some fun diddies you can download. Like the game Flow is simple but entrancing and fun, and this game called Pain is absolutely hilarious in a sick way. stash has been playing Call of Duty 4 every evening. It's like being in a movie. Me - I love the Blue Ray. That's sweet stuff right there. I'm waiting for Blade Runner to come out on Blue Ray...

I almost bought a PS3 recently on Amazon for an extremely discounted price and then it went up about $100 because of the supply diminishing (the 60gig model)... damn Sony making 40gig models with less features and 80gig models that are too much money for me ;-;
Back to PC gaming, I go!

I fuckin' love my PS3... there are finally more games I want to play than I have time for.
I've been playing Call of Duty 4 online every damn night. It's awesome, like Battlefield 2, only more fast paced. Uncharted: Drakes Fortune is awesome. Timeshift is cool... The Orange Box comes out for the PS3 next week.
yes, I am lurving it.

I seriously can't wait any longer for Blade Runner to come out on Blue Ray. That's going to be our anniversary gift to ourselves, we're hopefully getting the box set (I want my origami unicorn, dammit!!) but even if we don't, I'd be happy with just having a fresh copy of that film. The remaster of that film has been a long time coming. Only a few more days!
