Judging by the disposition and the gear that there is, it's not the studio, it's live rehearsals ! That made me cum a little.
I don't see any new machines, it looks like the same gear as in the last tour (but we can only see 1/4 of the whole gear on that pic)

Looks like they're readying up for the upcoming shows, those are the usual suspects.
@Ben_j- hey look a new boss pedal, b'waha

I think that's the regular old boss distortion, the $35 one, here. I bet they used the Doepfer for the arpeggio portion on Das, wonder if that sticker being there means we'll hear that again this tour, it was awesome live. Could mean they're too cool to remove labels. The gear is all the same stuff in that pic as their last tour, gotta love the preset synths, having a modular live probably wouldn't work well since you get one patch and the vintage ones are a risk, they seem to only gig synths that could be replaces for under £100,000

Nah, I don't think it's a DS-1. It must be the Turbo Distortion DS-2
I guess it will be used for something else than Chemical Beats.
On the FX I see :
Alesis QuadraVerb (4th from the top)
TC Electronic FireWorx (3rd from the top)
Electrix Filter Factory (green one on the bottom)
Peavey Spectrum Analog Filter (6th from the top)
I can't remember what the two on the top are. Also I have no idea what the grey one and the one between the Electrix and Peavey filters are.

I don't think that someone quote it but the Korg MS-10 is linked and look activate on the picture. Contrary to the "We Are The Night" tour...
Maybe more retro-psychedelic sequences ?

It's used for the booming noises before the encore, listen to any show and you'll hear it, it's great. The leave it runnng and when they come back for the encore they turn a few knobs up to 11.
Do you mean that pulsating low bass noise, that sounds like a horny whale?

day of interviews, good bit about barbers poles (shepard scales), enjoyed myself
-just read ed's tweets and am super interested to know how this came up! Search it on wikipedia, I think I've heard them play something like that in the cocodrilo(sp?) dj set, the clip with the massive screens with yellow visuals... Wonder what other cool things are yet to be revealed on the album!

That really is interesting Chin...
For clarification:

A Shepard Scale is a tone that can loop an octave to make it sound like it is rising forever without actually doing so. Listen to the Coachella bootleg and you can hear them playing one right before they go into "Escape Velocity". It's interesting that this would come up in an interview since the studio version of Escape Velocity doesn't seem to have the Shepard Scale... a different track on the album, perhaps?

Aha!
Ok.
1. My brain is a bit of a 'tard for remembering stuff most of the time
2. I found the noise being referred to in this video recorded at 'Jesolo'. The audio is kinda rubbish compared to the one i (half) remember watching.
And don't even bother askin me where 'cocodrillo' came from....
