As far as the website goes its not bad but the jaw moving and stuff looks so stupid.
I don't mean to pick on you here, but you've said this twice now in 2 different threads. The mouth does stop moving, I know, I watched it! ;)
OK now onto more positive stuff.
I really like the excitement that's gone into the new site design. A lot of work must've been put into this, so give it a chance. It's clever and pulled off well with the artwork chosen to depict Push the Button. Take a minute or two and browse around, when this site is 100% operational it'll be great. 1000x better than before. It already is so much better and has a lot more to offer than the previous site which was hard to navigate and a little void of content. Anyone take the time to read the biography? I just got done reading it... And it's very endearing, it's got a sense of humor (reminiscent of the humor on their old websites from way back - you know which ones I'm talking about) and it's charmingly written.
Anyway, I dig.

I never said it didn't stop moving, take it easy. Its the fact that the gear or the original shape dosn't move, and this black shape fades in and moves and then goes away, but the one underneath just sits there. Just looks really lazy job by the designer of the site.
I don't mean to sound like a dick but since you commented on my post I will mention that since your whole post was about the new website, it should have gone into the thread about the new website.
sneakerbeater: you mean those letters are actually cut out of plexi and photographed?
I always thought they were computer generated or something, thats pretty cool. The singles artwork was good, but I'd love to have a series of the silkscreens of the surrender work for my studio, that would be awesome. I also miked the consistancy of the artwork across all of the singles from the surrender album.

back to the original topic in this thread:
dig your own hole's artwork is classic. in fact, i've always loved the early photographs, on covers or in the booklets, those were really really good and could have made some more covers, IMO. i've even liked the CD artworks, in fact the same everytime, just with different colours. nice. when i first saw surrender and HBHG artwork i was like "uh, what's that". now, have to say, got my room full of posters with these artworks, they were really good and kickin... CWU was okay though i preferred the blue design to the red one and i still like the idea with all these circles (see my sig) and heads for CWU's singles. the new artwork still needs to grow on me. it looks okay but i won't really judge it before i hold the vinyl copy in my hands for some time

the singles artwork is very strikeing and in the book the pictures are wicked.
My favorite is however Surrender, i was in a shop yesterday and pick up the cd and spent about 5minutes looking at the picture, i didnt half get some funny looks.
Isnt DYOH artwork from a picture Ed and Tom found in a skip, im sure i herd them say that once, may of been on DVD or that programme a little while back bout them on channel 4.
I also happen to really like the live visuals, faves are EB7 clowns and the eyes for TPPR.

All album art has a purpose, to represent what a particular album/release is about. The singles artwork is cool but is different because the release wasn't a new album. For me, I would have to choose between surrender era and ptb - so far I am favouring these 'logos' as they're really different to past stuff, just look at the remix promo artwork for galvanize! Big well done to those responsible. 8)

I <3 the Blue Source work. I wonder who they are using now, it does seem like blue source work.
When I talked to Stephan Sagmeister (really well known graphic designer for those who are not familiar with him) he apparently did designs for their new album but they decided not to go with him. I would have loved to see them, and I have a feeling they would a have been much better going by his previous work and that the mans a creative genius.
It's weird as a designer I go by Negative Space, and then years later while looking through the old epd dyow stuff, I found out those were the names of the designers who did their work, but I think they were later accquired by another firm or something.
