Crazy. Seriously, everyone there went nuts, everything was 'orange' - and the craziest thing were all those boats and ships on those grachten (is this the right word in english?) and the amstel where everyone was dancing to some good old happy hardcore music (yes, i heard at least on three boats charly lownoise & mental theo). OK, not only happy hardcore - but those dutch people are the only one on this planet still listen to this.

I vote for a forum meetup in amsterdam on the next konigsdag (king's day).

I've seen videos of Queen's Day, somehow I can't imagine so many people on streets of Amsterdam. Was it really that crowded? But I can imagine people dancing to old happy hardcore.

You know, forum meetup is quite tempting, I'm all for it! Besides, I was planning to visit Amsterdam once again, so many things left to see there. Posted Image

Peter Rauhofer RIP

Some other forums out there have their own RIP/Death thread. I'm not sure we have one do we? I thought of starting this as a a thread by itself but i don't know how interested Chems fans will be. I wasn't a massive fan of his work, but undoubtedly I have something remixed by him in my collection (Pet Shop Boys 'Break For Love' springs to mind). He was part of the dance fraternity and he has died from brain cancer at the age of 48. He was working as recently as 2012, producing a remix of Adele's Skyfall, though I think he was already ill by then. A reminder to us all that life can be shorter than expected.

We don't have a general RIP thread. There have been threads started when certain people have passed on, thoough they are more specific to the individual. I'm not sure why there hasn't been a general RIP thread, perhaps it might seem a bit too grim for some, but if you or anyone wants to start one, I have no objections.

This is sad news. 48 is just too damn young to leave so soon. And with the recent passing of the Slayer band member (I'm not what anyone would call a Slayer fan) to me it is always sad when someone in the musical brotherhood has passed away.

In other news, I am graduating from law school in a week and found out that I passed the MPRE (Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination). The MPRE is a test that they make you take to make sure that you know how to be ethical (i.e., don't sleep with your clients, steal from them or lie to the court).

Trying to remain calm before having to study for the bar.

Really dug Digitalism last night--those guys are impressive.

A good catch if you ask me.

Gorillaz? Wow, nice.

The music might be a nice catch, but sadly it looks like two porcupines had a wrestling match on this vinyl. Not going to get much play out of it.

Humperdinck's actually a surprisingly boss guy, at least based on what I learned about him from this review of his greatest-hits album (though to be fair Marcello Carlin has a knack for making pretty much any musician sound boss). A good catch if you ask me.

Interesting to see that one of the people adding comments at the bottom of that review is Bob Stanley of St Etienne - a band that has been remixed by The Chems. Anyone not otherwise familiar with St Etienne could do worse than check out their first three albums.

Wow, you completed the holy trinity as far as I'm concerned. There is only 3 active females on this forum, which come from 3 different continents. Yet, you've managed to meet all 3.

Hey Kwiddle! It was awesome meeting you and your other half. It had been a loooooooooooooooooooong long time since we've been to Venice Beach (some things never change and it's as crazy as it has ever been!) Thank you for meeting up with us and for allowing us to drive you all over LA in search of quality tacos! It is great to finally meet you after all these years. :)

Hope you feel better soon!
