i heard 2day that the chems stole the bassline off block rockin beats from a track by 23 skidoo called "coup" ne one else heard about this?

i managed to download it in mp3 after i heard about it. its off some guy's 23 skidoo fan site and its actually quite a funky track.

the bassline is quite similar,definately inspired the brb bass 8)

They played this in old DJ sets...

they are kinda similar but brb has different sound and different notes i think. so maybe not so similar?

the "back with another one of those block rockin beats" is sampled from schooly d. the bassline as far as i can make out is the same as the coup bassline but with some extra notes in. if you listen to the brixton academy live version of brb then the cut up bassline leading in to block rockin beats is the same as the basslien from coup. perhaps they started off copying then added more notes in as they went along?



anyone know where the "youre about ready to rock steady" comes from? X-D

One version of the lyrics said: Hey, the chemical brothers here, they knew all about soul...
