Heee come on C-row you have admit that the Orgy song sucks in comparison to the New order version.
The New order version is how old????
I believe it is from 1980.
The production proces then wan't as good as it is today.
It is possible that the singer from Orgy can't even sing
and that his voicerecording was edited in a studio to make it sound like he could sing.
Other bad cover from a good song is Under the bridge.
Original from Red hot chili peppers (R.H.C.P.)
Cover from All Saints.
Song is about using heroin under a bridge.
I think that the girls from All Saint didn't knew what they were singing.
And I could go on on about this.
I think you've all got some good examples just like this.

Abba is all right, I'm biased, it's kitsch and nostalgic for me. They had a song called Mamma Mia, and I used to believe that song was made just for me. Then again I was 5 at the time. Har.
And it's easy to dislike Opera, which is a shame but I know it takes a certain kind of appreciation for it... OK, you can slag Wagner (the first and only opera I ever went to and fell asleep at - mouth wide open, the whole bit lol, and I couldn't stop thinking "kill da wabbit, kill da wabbit" - damn you Bugs Bunny!!!) but leave Bizet and Puccini out of this. ;) I'd still take Wagner over.. well, I'll get to that...
As for those candy asses Orgy. Blue Monday was their crowning moment, at New Order's expense imo. They rode off that song. I've ranted about this before and I won't repeat myself too much here but I'm with Tom and Ed on this one: atrocious.

I didn't think that was a too bad cover, it was a pity they didn't know what they were singing about. Surely before you sing a song you find out what it's about first. But nat and nick are so fit so I forgive them for their sins.

Nope.
I still say that the Sumner vocals are by far the worst he ever did. The 1995 version sounds worlds better than the old one - either Hardfloor have a magician in their studio, or Bernard re-recorded them like they did for Confusion 2002 (which is damn cool, especially the koma+bones mix).

did someone say New Order...ok first of all Orgy's version is nothing but CRAP....and i admit with c-row that the vocals on the 1980 version are not his best work...but the 95 version is just classic, better than the original.oh shit gotta go...class is almost over.

I still think LMC's 'Take me to the clouds above' is crap. U2's 'With or without you' is miles better (imo).
Anyway, my favourite 'other' artists are (in no order):
Kraftwerk
Daft punk
Moby
Royksopp
Leftfield
Lemon Jelly
Goldfrapp
Layo & Bushwacka
+ recently added:
Telepopmusik

Listen to quite a bit of different music, n since I come from a rock n roll/ metal background, still absolutely love and follow some of those bands. If I had to make a list of my absolute fav fav category bands/ artistes, it'd probably be something like this..
(Haven't got into too much electronica yet, as got into the whole genre about 3 yrs back, n was very happy with discovering all those Chems gems for a long time, wallowin in their mire... :) .. so could sure use some reccos, if people get my musical drift.. )
Pink Floyd - THE gods of everything TRIP!
Chemical Brothers - our gen's Pink Floyd! :)
The Prodigy
Stratovarius
Iron Maiden
Anathema
The Beatles
The Dust Brothers - Fight Club's my fav soundtrack ever!
Cradle Of Filth -- hehe.
RATM - but not too much.. just find Morello absolutely brilliant
RHCP
Fatboy Slim
BT
Letfield
The Crystal Method
Daft Punk
Steve Vai
Joy Division
Primal Scream
Beck
New Order - whatever little I've managed access to yet
Infected Mushroom - not a very big fan of trance anymore, but disc 2 of Converting Veggies is absolutely mindblowing!
Shpongle
Shiva Shidapu - a long time back when I was just getting into electronic music
Listen to a lot of other shit, but that list would basically be stuff I can swear by, and sure rinses my soul. ;)
