yeah, but look at the downside. They might get rich, but the whole world's gonna know that they drank each others pee.

I just wrote a cheque for $1820. That sucks, but at least my largest outstanding debt is now paid off.

Too bad that $1800 would almost cover NYE in London, but must have priorities. And that priority is to be debt-free (car, credit card, etc.) other than my student line of credit before the end of the year. Then pay down the line of credit some by the end of summer and be able to afford a United Kingdom visit sometime in 2007.

It is such a relief to not have mountains of debt. We got the bulk of our debt eradicated... we needed to file bankruptcy, it was a few years ago but it was something that needed to be done but the pisser downside is that having a stain like that on your report really screws you when you go to buy things you really need (like a house, a car, even trying to rent a place to live in some cases). Had stash's car not been a complete pile that more money than car payments was sunk into each month, we'd have been about 100% debt free by mid next year. But hey, it's all good, we've only got one car payment for now. I am so glad we don't have credit card debt or credit cards for that matter.

I've got a fantastic credit rating, or so I've been told by the bank (one in a hundred for someone my age), but there are frivolous things I want (new car, vacation, clothes, etc.) that I want. And I definetly don't want my overall debt level spiralling out of control. And I want to move out within the next 12 to 18 months.

I could easily qualify for bigger lines of credit from competing banks (one is offering me up to $75,000) and make it to NYE this year and get a new car, etc., but I don't want to come out of university owing boatloads. I hope to get out of eight years university with a total debt level of well under $30,000, which I think is a fantastic accomplishment and roughly double what I owe right now (after 5 1/2 years).

And yes, if my car wasn't an unreliable POS, I would be without half my debts and possessing flight tickets. But nooooo..... I had to have a gas-guzzling, turbocharged, all-wheel-drive sports car. And an increasingly rusty one at that. Fricking moron, why couldn't I have bought a Corolla or something? X-D

Well, your next car can be a Carolla (I hear the S version has a more spiffy engine!)

You are so lucky that you have good credit. It is so tempting to go out and spend money that you don't have if the line of credit is available to you - it's good you have a grip on that (despite the whole NYE thing, but if you could make it over to the UK for a live gig that would be awesome! I know the last trip to the UK is only the beginning... only the beginning... beginning... ginning... ing...ing)

For me it's a good thing I don't have a line of credit (no bank is stupid enough to give me one, haha) or else my son would be 90 years old by the time he'd pay off trips to London for NYE... rounds of Red Stripes for all my frieeeeeeeends, keep em coming!!

Part of the problem is how great my parents are. I had planned to use what little money I had left after plane tickets to get my hard currency and traveller's cheques, but my mom insisted on lending me $900 to cover it so I wouldn't run short in London. Resulted in me spending several hundred more than I had planned. Ah well....

Then just after I paid that off, she lent me my airfare to fly down to Cali. And just as I paid that off, my car broke down (twice) and resulted in me owing them $1800, which is finally paid off as of tonight.

Now just to get the credit card and the car paid off. Maybe this week...

(And I still want a sporty car. I want a newer version of my car... 1998 or so. Another money pit waiting to happen. When will I learn? X-D I do love AWD though in the winter here.)

Your parents rock! When you move out, I'll move in with them. I'm sure they wouldn't mind having a daughter! ;)

You definitely need an AWD with the harsh winters you get there. And being a guy n'all, the sporty chick-magnet mobile is a must!

Don't I know it! It's the only reason I can stand living at home. They're amazing and they still drive me insane. Can't imagine having anything less!

Needs a paint job and some rust repair, but yeah, I love me shitty little car. Gets some attention here and there.

Ive had a little auto problem as of late myself. Only difference is i dont need a car as of right now to get me around, since i work with in walking distance of my job. I need a new transmission, for sure, a new muffler as its rusted off and litterally dragging on the ground, and not to mention a missing right rear hub cap thats been missing for over a year. But since its something i dont need to fix right away, i can put it off to the side and started saving money for a california/desert trip!

I have come to the conclusion that studying sucks. Yet I enjoy learning this stuff for some strange reason.

Either way, I wish my Mechanisms of Microbial Disease midterm was next week, not tomorrow.

OK, so out of the corner of my eye I'm glancing at the movie The Island while we're winding down for the evening (waiting til the boy is snoring before we watch South Park). And you know, Michael Bay really does suck. Why is he still allowed to make movies? Even Hummers getting destroyed in overly fantastic explody highway scenes aren't enough to redeem this film.

And this movie manages to make Scarlett Johansen look dumb. As in Tara Reid dumb. Nice one Michael Bay. You suck!!
