I duno, it was always, just THAT hip hop track on the album. It didnt feel very cohesive, it felt, well ... maybe difficult was the word to describe it, jus dint seem to gel and flow. i enjoy hip hop, but im all about massive hooks and old skool vocals im very selesctive over what i listen to, also its a bit polictical and i usually shy away from that sort of stuff (eminem did a song like it as well which i hated), it was in musical terms that it made sense to me, more than in lyrical content.
I just randomly decided to listen to PTB in full as you do, and it came on, it just seemed to fit in with the album alot more than it did when i heard it b4. Instead of skipping it as soons as i hear "left, right, left right..." i let it play.
I just started to feel it, the build up, and then the "all my soldiers march with me" played and the phat hook came in and it just sounded really really cool for the first time!!! And OMFG how good is the chorus!!! The sounds started to fit in with the other tracks and the general style of the album. I think this song is very powerful, personally it reminds me somewhat of what Kanye West might make.I love this song now!
. It makes the album complete for me, cos the other tracks i loved anyway.
......Then in comes close your eyes and all the aggression melts away into loveliness
Love is all!

Young fan, that's a great summary of your Left Right journey! That "ah yes, it alllllllll makes perfect sense now" feeling is great.
And the cool part is, now you can listen to Push The Button and let go, not have to bother yourself with skipping tracks!

Hey guys!
this is this first time I've gotten off my arse (or stayed on it actually)and bothered to post. I only just had the money and the time to go out and buy Push the button and I think it's a album which has grown on me the same way come with us did. My favorite tracks to hit me first were The Boxer (even though I thought my cd player had broke for a second there), close your eyes and of course Galvanize cos I heard it first, but the rest of the tracks have sucessfully grown on me, especially hold tight london and surface to air. So now I'm competely addicted to it like every other album I've bought from the chems. I saw them a couple of months back at the melb big day out and I'm hopping they come back soon for there own show...Stupid Sydney got their own side show :x
Anyway thats my first real post....please don't kick my head in for anything dumb I said

Hiya kwiddle! Welcome! :)
We're not going to kick your head, you didn't say anything stupid - it was a good first post and I hope you stick around.
It's really nice to read how much Push The Button has grown on you - same thing happened with me and Come With Us so I see where you're coming from. Sometimes, albums just need a little time to work their way into your senses. It's all good!

Phew! Well Thanks for not officially kicking my head in :P
I'd love to stick around, I've been lurking around for a while reading, waiting to make my first move...or post whatever. I'm such a nob!
I've been really excited lately 'cos I just bought Dig Your Own Hole on vinyl and I have absolutely nothing to play it on. haha more reasons for beeing a nob ;-)

Another first time poster here...
Been a long time Chem Bros' fan though.
Sorry... i dont like "Push The Button" :'(
"Surface To Air" is the only song on the album that kept me interested.
The rest of the songs are too commercial, too repetitive, not interesting enough.
Every other album i have liked since the first listen, so "Push The Button" is quite disappointing for me :(
I have listened to "Push The Button" a few times now, and will listen to it more... see if it will grow on me, but im not liking the chances.
My fave Chem Bros are songs like "Private Psy Wheel", "One Too Many Mornings", "Alive Alone", "Star Guitar" and of course, all of the album "Surrender".
Nothing on "Push The Button" comes close :(

MWP, good to have you here and I hope you stick around because it seems like misspellings aside, ;) you dig the Bros music enough to come on here and talk about it.
I understand what you mean about your issues with Push The Button. But here's hoping that maybe sometime down the line, some more songs off that album will grow on you. I think quite a few of us have had that happen with songs from time to time. You win some, you lose some, right?
