Let's makes thinks clear: the longest version of Elektrobank is on the single and is 8 minutes long. There is no official longer version of Elektrobank available. If there is an extended version circuling around the internet it's a fake extended bootleg mix (or whatever you want to call it)

back on topic: the deluxe edition of Further contains a dvd with the films of Further. What really, really would be cool if that there would be an "easter egg" on the dvd with the live visuals of EBW8. Cause let's be honest everyone, are those exploding paint pong balls not the coolest thing we've ever seen at a live show?? (well maybe the Daft Punk logo on their jackets at the encore of Alive '07 was the coolest visual)

Tom, Ed, please, pretty please, with cream on top, we know you're not into live dvd but those exploding paint pong balls would also be a complement for Adam Smith and Marcus Lyall

I'm pretty sure if you look around a bit you can find those visuals on this very site. I say they should use the easter egg-ness for something more special!

That's not really an easter egg, or even all that secret anyway. Ah, well. Had my hopes up.

Ooo so based on its placement in the album, Escape Velocity is pretty much the start!! There the Chems go shattering all my initial perceptions by going and putting this near the beginning of the journey. ;)

I like the title Swoon. I wonder what k, d and b stand for?

Anyway. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! This is exciting as we're approaching the home stretch to release day. I can't wait to be taken along for the rest of the ride!

i have a feeling that k, d and p will be this song

Hmm, k + d + b = keyboards+drums+bass? The monograms of Tom's little ones? Ketchup + Dinner + Breakfast? I'm sure it'll come up in an interview..

Does anyone here remember that track they used to open the Xmas 2005 gigs with? I think someone here christened it 'Atom Dance'
That was a superb piece of music. I've always held out they'll work that track into something one and I really hoped it would be on We Are the Night but maybe just maybe it'll be on Further

Here's a dreadful quality clip of it http://www.youtube.c...h?v=4D8-9KGHnsY

Yeah, there are some rumors flying around that it may be "Snow" based upon the description of how the first track on the album sounds like ("it begins with what sounds like an alien transmission" or something to that effect). I'm keeping my hopes up!

I doubt it's Snow. Round about the 7.50 mark of Escape Velocity (during the 2nd break and build up) you can hear a weird bleeping series of noises in the background that sound a bit like an old dial up modem connecting. I reckon this might be what the track Snow sounds like and Escape Velocity is just referencing back to it. I reckon the track Snow is quite a short introductory track, just a lead in track to Escape Velocity. 'Atom Dance' was a real anthem of a track in the making. If its on the album at all I think it will be later on. It may even be the following track to EV Another World

Lol
But in all seriousness, The Chems' record company is doing a great job this time around--it has been so hush-hush (unlike Apple *zing*). I mean, we didn't even know what the first official single was until last week.

True - there's still a few weeks to go which means there could be leaks in store.

I think the label has done a good job at keeping things under wraps as well (with the exception of the premature Escape Velocity youtube 'oooopsie').

The industry seems a lot different than it was just a few years ago. There's not as many record stores, so not as many promos being so freely distributed - it could be maybe that has a little something to do with it.

Anyone remember when Come With Us was leaked? It felt like it was leaked a good 2 or 3 months beforehand!

That would be pretty amazing if people actually kept track of leaks. It's so hard to pinpoint, though. All it takes is a trickle for the dam to burst. Once that happens it would be hard to trace.

The last Chems promo I got prior to release was Push The Button. I got it from a label rep around the time it was leaked online. I know toward the end of my record store stint, some promos were watermarked so if they got leaked the record labels could track it back to the person who was in possession of the watermarked promo. The only people in possession of those that I knew of were the label reps, and they would come into the store and let us listen and that was it. They wouldn't dare let watermarked promos out of their sight!

I had WATN at least three weeks before the release i had just hoped there would've been similar preview with this one...i think i've worn out "escape velocity" in my ipod already....and yes i do purchase the albums i'm just a fan of hearing them before most of the general public.

It was not a mistake, they were willing to put it on Youtube. Just like they put Swoon online now.

I think you misunderstood the reference--parlophone accidentally put up the album version of EV, shortly thereafter taking it down and putting up the 12" mix.
