Hi for our media A Level we have decided to make a music video for SHAKE BREAK BOUNCE. I would like to know what you first think of when you here the song, what other music you're into, what elements are essential for a chemical brothers video? Any other extra info you can give us on the band. Thanks for your help.

what you first think of when you here the song
Naughty voodoo shenanigans. Honest!
what other music you're into
Sigur Ros, The Mars Volta, New Order, Joy Division, The Streets, Doves, Engineers, Battles, The Black Keys, RATM... well yeah there's more, but that's enough to be going on with.
what elements are essential for a chemical brothers video
Well there is generally a journey (trip if you will) of some sort; physical, spiritual, ethereal, or a combination. There's always jokey/playful/dark humour/tongue-in-cheek/read-between-the-lines vibes in the Dom & Nic vids. Plus any kind of cameo of Ed and Tom - very essential element!
Any other extra info you can give us on the band
They like jerk chicken, square pies, Wii tennis.
Hope that helps.

1) Shake the booty! (honestly)
2) The list is to big to put here so some key words : Detroit Techno ( my latest addiction ) , Genesis , Placebo, The Beatles, Underworld, Bjork, Bloc Party , Arctic Monkeys, Unkle.
3) Creative freedom is what its all about. Think outside the box! There is nothing essential, Tom and Ed like to give the directorsthey work with as much freedom as they need and this results in out of control robots, beatboxing pufferfishes and skeletons fucking in the restroom. THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX!!
4) They changed the way i listen to music forever ;-)

1.) I think of tin toys let loose in a wind-up toy factory.
2.) Other music - if it catches my ear then I'll give it a listen. Sure I love other bands that have been influential on how I hear music, but I can't narrow it down to a specific genre or style
3.) Essential... Like Jeanie said, creative freedom. There is no one formula when it comes to interpreting what you see in your minds eye when hearing/being inspired by what you hear.
4.) As for extra info on the band - what kind of extra info is needed? One important thing they've always talked baout is their friendship. I think that's key to them continuing to do what they do, it's right there in the music they make. In the end I think the music speaks for itself. And for a lot of people here, the music speaks volumes.
