Nice intelligent reply, maybe I not posted here before but new to the chemical brothers I am not, I have travelled far and wide (ie Sydney) and for a long time (brixton '94) to see them, all I was saying is that it wasnt a patch on the Wolverhampton gig, did you go?
The bass that I had promised my Dutch friend didn't exist! Amsterdam folk are hard people to make happy, they have a lot of good venues and the best bands play there, apparently a few grumbles were heard outside, during the gig. Thats not to say I didn't enjoy it, I loved every moment but the rawness and sound were not present.
So please, don't bring the acid.

Hi, folks! Yeeaaah.. I was in Amsterdam, just got back yesterday. I went on metro to Heineken Music Hall (quite huge) - I was there by 19:00 o'clock (I've got there 2 hours before chems commenced playing); I saw a vast Amsterdam ArenA just nearby - awesome. A whole site is just like new, giant, concrete entertainment hub.
Chems were amazing, like always ;) Began with "Galvanize", then "Do It Again" .. Oh, I can't state all tracklist, but the most I liked was "Out Of Control" (with that "..Doesn't Matter" sample) - massive. The whole set was based on Glastonbury set, I think (as I heard bits from it on BBC Radio 1); "Believe" was very impressive and loud.. And then, after about an hour and 20 min, chems turned off equipment, public went mad, then they came back on stage with "Sunshine Underground" at last (and I left immediately after that). That was brilliant. The visuals and lasers were unbelievable.
I just was a bit dissapointed, that among the audience were many adults over 30's or something. Were they interested in the show!? I haven't got a clue. It's a bit pitty, that I didn't met anyone from the forum. For those, who were there: I was the guy with white t-shirts and glasses, brown hear, dark trousers. Anyone recognised me? :)
To conclude, that was my first chems live gig (I just saw 2 DJ sets of them before). So, I was astonished. You know, there aren't many contemporary live performances in my country (Lithuania - that's were I'm from! ;) - so it was like a privillege for me to go to Amsterdam for a live event. The Chemical Brothers. Good luck!

Dutch people are laidback, not grumpy. And we all know that white people can't dance (unlike some of our foreign fans), so to not embarass the hell out of ourselves, we don't. We just stand there and nod our heads. That's the sole reason we are superior to, let's say: Brits and Americans. And we can smoke pot at venues without getting our heads bashed in by the police. Yeah, Dutch people rock hard.

Ahhhhhhhh! Quick post! I'm at an internet cafe.
I thought the Chems' performance was fucking AMAZING! The Dutch are, and this is ironic coming from me, really awkward. I felt like I couldn't really scream and dance and act like I normally do at Chems' shows. It was a little weird.
But I can't WAIT to see them again in Los Angeles.
As for the Amsterdam set, the energy was strange, but the highlights for me was being there with the crowd when HBHG went off, and I was absolutely in love with Burst Generator. The visuals are a trade off for me, because they're amazing, but a bit menacing at times. I did love how fierce Do It Again was, and they did not disappoint with Believe, The Sunshine Underground, and Saturate.
Unfortunately, because of the odd energy of the show, I'd place it just above the Oakland performance I saw in 2005. It was a letdown in quite a few ways, but it's been amazing to see how far the set has come. It has so many layers now, such intricacies, that I look forward to hearing it again, should a bootleg surface.
Love is all!

YEAAAAHHHH Finnaly, I was waiting half a year for that bloody Gig.. But man it was so worth it. Really amazing.
I was there by 16 o clock xD.... Couldn't wait :P
But met some really nice people outside, was really great. Drink some beers, and then the police came. So we had to put away all the shit we made in front of the Music hall :P..
And about 6 or 7 o clock they opend the doors.. I rushed inside.. For the best spot XD offcoarse..
Well the rest is so undescribable... I cant remember half that night.. Thats how big it was for me.. I really really wanted to see that show.. And now was the time xD
All the sleazy talk about the dutch xD.. Its TRUE.. I didn't knew that untill that night. I was going all balistic on the Tunes.. And later that night.. I was standing all alone with an circle around me XD.. All the peops wouldn't go near me.. I am dutch, but fuck that.. If i wanna dance, oh sure I will :P..
And i am sure.. I going to see them.. Doesn't matter.. :P
and at the end of the show(like pooter said)
LOVE IS ALL!!

oh dear, waited 4 months for this show, flew in from northern england, first time seen them since sunderland 05{outstanding} and im afraid the handbrake wasnt fully let off for me.venue great, sound quality good but i like a lot more volume and i was as close to a bank of speakers as i could.the set revolved largely around the new album,{ok they had to} but after following for 12 years this was the only time i didnt feel they covered everything, believe saved the day and star guitar, but overall i was gutted. still cant wait till next week at t in park. maybe its a dutch thing but in the 3 clubs we took in over the weekend all had noise meters in and 100db was the max limit allowed. liked the heineken on the back packs at the front anyway, cant imagine that in uk somehow.
