Quasimoto (aka Madlib): "The Unseen"

(its not a new artists or album, but i just discovered it :P)

If you like hip hop you must get this. Scratch that, if you like music you must get this. Its so frickin smooth. Millions of miles ahead of all the over hyped rap artists like Kanye, Jay Z, and so on. Amazing Jazz samples, and excellent production all around. You can replay this thing over and over and never get tired of it. Hell, it hasnt left my cd player for a month!

Hit the bong, chill, and listen to hip hop bliss!

Got this news form the Astralwerks newsletter today. Just seeing the name B-52's is like a blast from the past:

  1. Astralwerks newsletter wrote:

    THE B-52's - Funplex

THE B-52'S are exploding onto the scene with the release of their first studio album in over 10 years and their Astralwerks debut - FUNPLEX.

One of the most influential bands of modern times, The B's bridged the gap between punk and new wave, introducing a totally unique sound that has influenced such contemporaries as LCD Soundsystem, Interpol and the Scissor Sisters.

The new album was recorded in their native creative hub of Athens, GA with producer Steve Osborne (Happy Mondays, KT Tunstall, New Order, Doves) and programmed by Pete Davis (Bjork) with all four original members: Kate Pierson, Keith Strickland, Cindy Wilson and Fred Schneider. The result is eleven fresh new tracks that represent an updated version of the band while still keeping with their original style and unconventional approach to music on the sexy, infectious, hook-laden new songs.

Stayed tuned for more info on the release from "the world's greatest party band" and the February 26th release of FUNPLEX!

    *album art coming soon

The B-52's had some great tunes way back when. They've got more than just Love Shack, people! ;) I dig Fred Schneider too and when we had Sirius in stash's car, we'd sometimes tune into his radio show and it was like taking a trip back in time.

This new B-52's could be interesting. I'm curious to hear it.
