So there was a mesh thingie going on?? Hot damn!
Oh my, I have to dig up one of my previous posts when we were talking about upcoming live set ups etc. and I mentioned how it would be cool if there was a mesh screen to add "layers" to the visuals.

I think i know what you're talking about, mips. Looks like lots of diodes. It's so much brighter than on previous shows, so much more powerful and full of massive colors. The visuals seem to mesh with the stars like in your S2A video. I kinda like this new style. Althoug I'd dig it if they'd have covered their desk too as they did on the CWU tours.
To saturate: doesn't it look like a giant 80's tennis game, the visuals and the altered main sound give me that feeling. Beeb beeb beeeb bb beeb beb beb beb beb beb beeeebeb.... goal!

yeh the visuals to saturate remind me of pong withe added paint explosion :D
the sunshine underground as a closer was superb - it was one of those transcenendtal moments where you just got taken to a proper joyous, happier place. it was so good, so heavy.
theyve done something to star guitar as well, i dunno what, it sounded loads clearer, definitely given a new lease of life.
and the fuckin clowns! hahahahahah! they had a new one mouthing 'get yourself high' and the you are all my children one as well - proper genius.
i should of course say - THANK YOU VERY MUCHLY TOM N ED!!! you made a school night much, much more fun :D

Yeah sorry Whirls - at this point i was so fucking tired! Hahahaha.
And Afro - is that a good or a bad thing ?! Haha!
I mustve been SOOOO extremely tired.
I woke up with a HUGE bump on my forehead. Its very visible. But i never woke up ? I can't even remember bumping my head that hard...?!
I mustve been in coma !!!

Thanks mippio. It was great meeting you too! How mental were we all after the set?? I think we were just all 'whoa', Neo in the matrix style. Jeanie was speechless! (Great post by the way Jeanie).
That first clown freaked me the fuck out. ("Just get yourself high")
If I have enough money I'd love to go to Amsterdam or Paris and see another show.

I actually thought Do It Again was a highlight of the set - I mean the whole thing was fucking amazing - but the live version of DIA is INFINITELY better than the recorded version, or maybe my stereo just sucks - the noise is just great for the (doo doo doo doo doo doo doo - the rythm of "oh my god what have i done")

Nope Pro! No 7 and no 6! But it didn't matter!
And Afro - seriously mate. I felt SO high when i was there and i was completely sober. I have never seen the Chems gig while being high or drunk - ive always been 100% sober , only on water or red bull! Because i want to experience it as it is , if that makes sense. I'm not saying i will never see the Chems on E - but i'm carefull , i don't think i would like to be inbetween 5000 people while rushing my face off!

I've only just recovered from the thur/friday/saturdays naughtyness, hence my lack of a review....looking through the thread I think jeans and mips etc have pretty much covered it..
great gig. tom and ed in blistering form. the new material sounded ace out..some mental transitions and cut-ups of old and new material. and the visuals...well. out of this world
**das spiegel sounded ace.
**we have now copyrighted the term:
"ed's star guitar hands"
**sunshine underground ace ace ace
**chemical beats is a bone fide acid classic. easily up there with phuture, adonis, armando etc.
I could go on.
great to meet some new faces (hello ford we chatted briefly) and some old ones (rich acidchildren sorry I didn't get a chance to talk more...although I doubt you would have got any sense from me)....
we must hook up with mr sneaker next time. must have raved a few feet away from each other many times over the years...
the dreadlocked and always smiling jeans and jos on top form. hats off to the dutch connection - proper dedication and ace company as always xx
after the fire alarm fiasco I have to admit I wasn't feeling very rave at all but that didn't last....there was a crackin' little atmosphere down the front. safe to say our little crew had a splendid time...even amy who wasn't well!
and hats off to nathan detroit who, just as we were contemplating our hideous journey home, sent us on our way with a lovely little 1-2:
the nightwriters - let the music use you
the cure - close to me
massive smiles as we left. top night all round.
can't wait for THAT farm....just wait til you see whats outside our tipi. thats all I'm saying.
rave safe
m'chebne/matt xx
