We did the math, and, sadly, for about half the cost that 5 days in london would be, we could get 3 year round disneyland passes AND 2 weeks in Cancun or Maui, so we're gonna miss this one. Gonna miss you people most of all, so come visit.

Too bad. We should found a Laguna fund!

hehe, yeah... Donations always welcome but I have a hard time with monetary gifts of any kind.

It would be the "Whirly Family Burger King Tour: London 2008" because that's all we'd be able to afford to eat while there. I mean, Nando's is awesome but there's not too many of them around. We could technically afford to go (as in get there, book a crappy hotel, get back), but it really would be a financially stupid idea for a family to embark on. It makes me sad that I can't go to Olympia. Really sad... I'll be sure to bring my ipod and all my Chems to listen to when I do go on my holiday be it Maui or Mexico or wherever the dollar will take me.

I really wanted to meet up with everyone again and was looking forward to meeting new people but once again I guess it wasn't meant to be.

I have no clue what to do at this point...

I think the smart thing to do is to stay put. But on the other hand I know I'm gonna miss a huge opportunity to meet many of you and see a legendary gig...

Some other stuff thats not helping me financially, is one of my back molars is in really bad shape and starting to bother me. I'm assuming I'm gonna need to do some oral surgery pretty soon... :( Obviously, this will not be cheap since I have no dental plan (LISA NEEDS BRACES! :P)... :(

Another big money drainer is college. I've decided that I wanna go back to school again, but I wanna avoid using financial aid.

However, I'm in dire need of some new Chemies live, and a new adventure along with finally leaving this continent and traveling to London. Sweet Jesus, CWU sounds awesome, as does TPWHYN...

I was thinking to myself, If I 'DO' miss Olympia, maybe, just maybe, if Tom and Ed come out with a new album, I can go catch their opening gig (assuming it will be somewhere in England) for their new tour. That is, if they do tour or whatever...

Ahhhhhhh, my head...

Damn--I'm still on the fence. WHY AM I ON THE FENCE?

Stash, Whirls, I love you both and if I do make it, I'll send over the energy via telepathy.

Frankly, as much as I would love to go, I've got 5 hits of e, 3 of which are powdered MDMA, and all the pot brownies, well, in the world, really, and no matter how much fun 1 Chems show in london, even at the Olympia would be, would not equal the fun of 30 trips to disneyland on pot brownies, or when you're rollin and you crank Burst Generator on your headset on Space Mountain. It really is as close to a religious experience as I've ever had.

Poot, fuck the fence, come visit us, bring your child, we'll spend the day at Disneyland, then have my mom come and pick up the kids around sundown, then we'll show you our church. We need to discuss this at length.

Aww Pooter we love you too. ((((((((poooooooter))))))))

And Bosco I know we chatted about this when you were here and I think you're in quite a dilemma. It would be cool for you to go but at the same time, if school is on your mind you've got to dive right while the idea and drive is fresh before you let the thought slip you by. I can't blame you at all for not wanting to be a slave to financial aid - because I am the same with credit cards.

Unlike stash - to me, very little tops a Chems show in the Fun Dept. Some of the best nights of my life took place in the presence of this great music being played out live. Disneyland on various substances is a lot of fun, but that can be had anytime for us (theoretically). The 1 show in Olympia would be awesome, but overall the holiday surrounding the Olympia gig wouldn't be very good and it's Connor's vacation too, and it's not fair to drag him around all jet lagged while his parents are worrying about how to get by. If it can't be done right then... well. That's that.

For you young whipper snappers who plan on going without any kiddies in tow, it'll be brilliant and just the most incredible experience. London is so fantastic. It's one of the coolest cities... Get off the fence Pooter, and go if you can and send some happy vibes our way while you're there!!

Sorry to hear it guys but I'm with you on this one, the financial cost is way too much!

Mind you, not sure I'd be spending it on enriching Disney corporation, but each to his/her own...

:-(

I might not be coming either. I've been to London so many times and to so many chems shows, and nowadays i have other priorities when it comes to spending money....

I'll see. It's a long tome from now.

you gotta go to disneyland on pot brownies, shrooms or e, and it becomes everything it was to you when you were 6 years old. seriously. Besides a certain couple Brothers shows, it's the only thing I'll make the effort to get lifted outside my living room.

what a downer thread. It's definitely not financially promising for me either, especially with paying for a hotel or hostel. the flight to and there i have covered, but the rooming what is making me unsure. should be a good show, we'll see how my wallet decides..

Ugh - this thread is a downer. I'm sorry. Seems like a few are on the fence for this one now.

But london_dust... I dare you to do the Surrender pose and post it on the forums afterward. ;) I think everyone (as in, the geeky diehards) should, that would be funny!

Must have been a hard decision for you guys to make but it definitely sounds like it's for the best. I wont be going due to financial constraints and the fact I've seen the Chems enough times to be a true fan.

I've seen Ed bedroom DJ on his ipod. Really, nothing they ever do again can top that experience.

Crap this is a downer thread! Thats a real shame you can't come Whirly and Stash, it would've been great to meet up in old Blighty (even if it is London).

There's no harm in waiting to buy my airfare.

It's all going to depend on how cheaply I can fly. Right now, there are a number of things pestering my life, and I'm just going with the flow.

Stash, I'll definitely come down this summer. Disneyland for all. My son is definitely one of the most social people I've ever met, and so I think it will be an awesome time.

Whirls, you make me smile. :)

Bosco - go to school. You've been trekking around the U.S. for the last year seeing some great, great live music. It might be time to put focus on your greater life plans. Although, hey, you can swing both if the fates want it that way.

Biff - Let's talk if I do end up going. It would be hell of cheap to split a hotel room.

Jeanie - If I went and you weren't there, I can't say I wouldn't cry. For reals.

Aw, I am sad. I wanted so badly to meet up with you there, Stash and Whirly. You've both been uber super nice to me for all of the five or so months I've been here and are like the forum guardians, or something. You will totally be missed. (And I also wish to go to Disneyland. :3)
