Ok ok ok, so I made a mistake :-P First of all, I'm 21...not 20. Secondly, I was high when I posted that soOoO =-O Oh yeah, and I'm not really a new member. I've had this handle for like a year now, but I just wasn't actively posting, however I would like to change that! Does anybody remember that old Chem Bros mailing list many years ago? Where one person sent an e-mail, and it was sent to everyone on the list, etc.?

Hello!

How can it be 9 years if you're 20 yrs old and started listening to them when you were 13? :? I'm driving myself nuts - going towards the edge of consciousness.

2002??? Youngbuck! Come W Us was good, but not the best. I can't imagine only being into them hardcore for a couple years. It's been a life long obsession for me :D

Yoshitora Tokugawa Escribi:

Actually, I loved the Chems before I knew them, you must be thinking, how can that be?? Well, in 1997 or 1998 I bought Wipeout XL for Playstation and heard it on my discman, and I loved "Dust-up beats" didn't even knowing that was the name of the track (I mean the reworked version, I only heard the My Mercury Mouth version in 2002). However, in that time of my life I didn't knew the Chemical Brothers yet (actually I think it was the first I heard techno in my life 8O ). But I discovered all the work of the Chems in it's full glory only around 2002 (Come with Us Era). I've been in love with their music ever since :D .

Everyone is super friendly on this forum, wow. Yeah, The Chemies were my gateway into electronic music. Don't get me wrong, I love music in general, but electronic music makes my heart beat faster like nothing else :-)

griffin Escribi:

First off welcome to the forum :)

Well for me i think it was around 95 when my friend played me a copy of loops of fury and my mercury mouth i did'nt really listen to music much back then but after listening to them i would search for music like the chems or listen to bands that they said influenced them, so they actually got me into music big time.

I think you need a lesson in correct posting etiquette.

3 or 4 years ago I heard HBHG and really like it but never sought out to buy it (I rarely bought music at that time). Then I must've accidentally found out about Singles 93-03. I checked each track using a BBC Music page to see which tracks sounded good and to my astonishment I really liked all of them! :D I bought the compilation, got onto this messageboard and started learning all about my new favourite 'band', later I bought the albums and recently some of the singles and who knows what the future will hold? I'm probably the 'youngest' fan having been into their music for roughly a year (I'm 18 too). 8)

Howdy howdy, ILoveChemBros. It looks like my manners have flown out the window - I should've given you a hearty "welcome."

Good to see another girl on here. There's only 1 other girl besides myself that posts on a regular basis, so it's nice to see there are indeed other chicks that dig the Chems.

Anyway - even better to see another former listee in these parts! :)

Hellow and welcomb.

First took notice after hearing Setting Sun on radio, rushed out and bought DYOH.

Became obsessed after hearing Setting Sun in the movie "The Saint". Weird eh.

Damn, why am I always a minority [gender-wise] in everything I do??? LoL I'm practically the only female in my major at school, and now there's apparently hardly any females here either? It's ok. I'll represent ;-) I still can't get over that multiple ppl from the old list post on here cuz that was sooooo long ago.

Being one of the few females in a predominantly male oriented place... not a bad place to be imo!! ;)

There's a few of us old straggling listees who've hopped from mail server to mail server since the old one went bunk. We keep in touch, and it's real nice, I must say, to have these sort of "pen pals" after all this time. Of course things are slower (hardly any mail) on the new mail server than before and we don't talk strictly about the Chemical Brothers. Then again, have we ever? :P But there's a few old timers on there that have been in the fold now for... geez, I believe going on 8 years or maybe longer... I think this newer setting is an extention of that old vmg list - a new generation here but I like the fresh perspective this place brings.
