so when is 'feel the pressure' gonna be released as a single??

i only ask this cos i see the charlies have been dropped by their lable this week. they have fulfilled there obligation to record 3 albums under there last contract. and now are free agents. but whats the point of releasing more singles if they have been dropped by universal??

hopefully they will release 'feel the pressure' to coincide with their UK tour in december. hopefully tom and ed will do there bit with the remixes. hey didn't they play a dub/extended version of FTP at this years WMC!!?? and what a great way to see us into chemical 5!!!

fingers crossed i'm gonna see the charlies at brixton in december. and since when has brixton academy been the brixton 'carling' acadamy??? how dare that pissy larger get its name in the middle of that great venue

Nice one. I'm planning to go to the academy sometime, but Brixton is a rough place, getting mugged is mandatory.

i was gonna defend brixton, but then again... i remeber the time i was gonna see fatboy slim and armand van heldan at the academy and while i was traveling on my way up a nutter planted a nail bomb, that went off and the brixton was seeled of by police. brixon is alright, the tube station and bus stops are pretty close to the academy.

the academy itself is a wonderful venue. i like the way it makes you feel your outdoors. man i have been there for a while, its time to return

They should move the academy, lock stock and barrel out of Brixton and put it somewhere else!

I vote Kent, any other ideas?

why kent?? kent is boring apart from maidstone which has a buzzing house scene. if i could move the academy anywhere i would move it to richmond. cos it wouldn't look outta place there and a piece of piss for me to get to

If they moved it here in my neck of the woods, people would think "wtf is this music? I can't hear Girls just wanna have fun or boom boom boom so i'm not going there". Stupid cnuts. :x

Yeah, they should put it anywhere in the middle of nowhere, out of town. Glastonbury would be perfect, but someone thought of it first. I don't know, whereever they moved it, it should have a massive multi-storey next to it! Public transport sucks ass!

I had another listen to Confront Your Demons, has 'feel the pressure' snippets that I really didn't notice on first listen, but I can clearly hear them now! ;-) I've been over to the Charlatans forum and had a read here and there. I didn't know Tim was planning to have the acoustic live version of LIS as a b-side at some point.

Anyway here are two interesting excerpts:

HarrytheMonkey Escribi:

Tim, I was listening to 6music on Monday night and a dj on there said you have a new single coming out shortly with the Chemical Brothers but I cannot find any info on this anywhere? Could you please shed any light on this?

Cat Escribi:

Tim played me the final (/near-to final) mix of the new Chemicals song he's singing on a few weeks ago. Fucking amazing tune. Love it. There's a bit that repeats the lyrics 'I'm a hustler'.. sounds ace.

Sounding good! :D

no. i hear gallagher has been hanging round a lot with ian brown recently. not something i'm too keen on, cant stand those gallagher brothers.

while i'm on the subject of ian brown, there is a great series on bbc 3 at the moment. its called 'blood on the turntables' and is a documentary on the music industry and how money and power can destuct art. this weeks episode was on the stone roses. it was a totally facinating hour long show. how that band got anywhere with their manager i dont know, the geezer was a twat. keep your eyes open for a repeat of this program, it was class

Of course, maybe 30 odd people in the United States even remember who the Stone Roses were - fat chance a program like that would be shown on television here... maybe on a cable channel too late at night, but not during prime hours. I would love to see that show you're talking about sneaker. Sounds really cool.

Do you have the Stone Roses DVD? I was thinking about picking it up (doesn't help to be flat broke!) because I've heard good things about it, so I was wondering what you thought in case you got ahold of this.

i so nearly bought that as an impulse buy but i didn't. their old manger was a complete knob jockey. he missmanaged that band so badly, it was so apparent from this program that he was to blame for their demise. his last words on the documentry when asked if the stone roses reformed would he like to manage them again 'i was a member of the stone roses, i am the stone roses!!!'. it was such a great program with input from noel gallagher, shaun ryder and mani.

i really wish they would make some happy mondays dvd's, help shuan out with his bankruptcy. i had loads of their live videos, but for some reason i binned them.

Just had a search at the Charlatans forum and there's a message from Tim, here's what he had to say concerning Benicassim:

Tim Burgess Escribi:

One of my fav festivals from the summer was Benicassim... I though we played a great show & I really enjoyed seeing all my mates from other bands - Primals especially... Duffy a legend, Mani gentleman in white, Innes looking a bit like Hanibal Lector, but in a good way... Bobby - always tearing up the ignorance!

The weather was hot, but amazing... the Mediterranean was like bath water, the back stage - free drinks & The Chemicals rocked - best I've seen em' & I really enjoyed singing 'Life is Sweet' - I think it was the best I sang all summer...

Really cool!

they are not to happy with the choice of release on the charlatans forum!! they should have released feel the pressure. it was talked about as the first single off the album, then it was gonna be second. now it seem it will never get released. i hope that version the chems played at WMC will get some kind of release
