Do you think I'd rather go see Fulham - Sunderland? X-D

Actually, I want to get tix to West Ham - Chelsea at Upton Park, so I can join in with 35,000 others screaming obscenities at Fat Frankie. If I get for that game, I won't be able to afford Highbury as well. Might check out Crystal Palace - Darby or Fulham - Villa.

Funny enough, everyone on the boards has been slating Crouch's performance yesterday. Didn't see the match myself (they broadcast the Chelsea and Milan matches here instead). I've been impressed with Crouch's play in general so far (besides the lack of actual scoring), but it's time for Cisse and Morientes to get a run out together. Both look on the verge of finally breaking out.

I think that's the real worry. Some are every saying they'd prefer Heskey. 8O I like Crouchinho a lot; he just needs to pocket a goal and then his confidence will be back.

Highbury ticket office basically said I'm out of luck (but very politely), so I doubt I'll have any chance for the West Ham - Chelsea derby either, but we'll see. I'm hearing good things about taking in a game at Craven Cottage, and it's cheaper there anyways, so that might be the eventual option. Or I could hit up the touts.... any idea how much tix might be going for outside the gates?

Ah, isn't Premier League football great? I watch non-league footy every Saturday - I turn up on the day and pay a fiver to get in (or use my Garforth Town season ticket). I'm closer to the field and I can stand up if I like (which is better than seated imo). After the game I can even talk to the manager, players and even the ref in the clubhouse :).

I'm a closet Scunthorpe fan, for some reason. It just happened. If I had more time I'd deffo check out some of the lower leagues, but a Premiership game would have to be the top priority given I've only got a week.

Yeah if you liked it before, then go again; it's still thriving. They had a little fire at the Stables Market in May but that didn't ruin it.
My dentist is in Camden. Sometimes if I've had some unpleasant dental treatment I'll wander along to Cyberdog and let the pummeling dance choons and over priced rave accessories distract me from the trauma.

Oh we also had the return of the Camden Crawl in June. That's 20+ venues, one wristband, two days. See as many acts as you can. The organisers went bust shortly afterwards without paying the artists, which is a shame all round really. Most of the acts were 'indie', but forumites here might be aware of Mouse On Mars from Germany whose beats were ENORMOUSLY loud at Koko, and quite entertaining (Berlin based Laurel Halo was um, interesting at the same venue). Also D/R/U/G/S gave us a splendid DJ set at the Electric Ballroom. But why Orbital's Phil Hartnoll had to DJ quite so late on the Friday night, I do not know. Those of us doing the Saturday needed to go home and get some sleep. He should have played earlier...

Holy smokes! Cyberdog is still a thing!! That was such a fun store to visit. We even dragged my mother in there, haha! It's been years since we've ventured in (probably a good 14 years ago, since we didn't have time to drop in on our 2005 visit) We bought a couple of things that endured the ages - a bright blue pullover, and a couple of toddler shirts for our son that are packed away as keepsakes.

This is one of the happiest things I've read all day! :D

Oh good. Pleased to be of service! Cyberdog has moved several times (around the market) since it started I think. I liked it when it felt like an extended nissen hut with corrugated iron walls. These days it's very slick and professional looking, and even has an escalator. I guess that's what happens when businesses become successful and more corporate. Hopefully that doesn't bum you out too much Whirly.

Aw shucks, was hoping Cyberdog would have retained that gritty underground warehouse-rave-meets-industrial-nightclub feel, but I suppose businesses have to adapt and move on too.

Still cool they are around, so not too bummed out, haha!

Any good pub where you can watch the arsenal/tottenham game? Would not be bad if there are more arsenal than tottenham fans. Our hostel is in ?Camden? (the tube station is euston).

The Euston Flyer directly opposite the British Library. It's slightly nearer to Kings Cross, St Pancras than it is to Euston. But you can walk from either.
They have two 'projector' screens in there and one flat screen TV, and they are definitely showing that game. Make sure you get there before kick off if you want a good spot.

There are also one or two pubs on Tottenham Court Road which show live football, I just can't remember the names (use Warren Street or Goodge Street station rather than Tottenham Court Road station).

Sadly it happens that we don't watch the game  - blame it on 6 pints of Cider...

On Friday we prowl through the pubs around Koko (Claire played, had loved to see them). Saturday we went to Camden Lock & Stables Market and then suddenly the Cider situation happens, which leads to fact that 2 of us 3 take a 3 hour nap at the hostel. Waking up again on 9pm we went on sightseeing through the city and stayed for a couple of beers at the London Wonderground, then went on with sightseeing. Sunday we first visit the British Museum (because it was a 10min walk away from the hostel) and then take some really really delicious food the Maltby Street Market. After that we went to Liverpool Street Station and travel back to Stansted.
Fun weekend, but i think i need more time (and money) when beeing there again.

The shame! I thought you Germans with your Oktoberfest and your beer halls could handle your drink...
