Ed is locked out of his account (crazy, right?) but wanted to pass along this message to you all:
Dear Forumites,
I just wanted to drop by with a message. We both really understand your frustration and sadness around the end of this version of the forum. A new album is upcoming and we have decided to create a new website for this grand occasion. Tom And I were not really aware that a forum in its current form was unsustainable for various reasons...hence the slightly confused reaction on Twitter.
We both really appreciate the lively discourse here about all things Chemical. I've been particularly moved by the friendships, meetings and night outs that have been inspired by this space. Our music is about bringing people together so this has been wonderful to see.
We will miss this space just like you and it is a shame with new material and shows arriving sooner than later that we wont be able to check in and see what you all make of it. I know that our web designer and technical gurus are working with some of you to ensure that there is a space for you to continue your dialogue.
Warm Regards to all of you and thank you for such passion, it means so much to us..I think you will love the new music...

I do hope that some sort of resolution will be found that ensures a reunion of us all in whatever format it may come. Losing a place where fans can come together and share their love for the band and each other, not just in a short message type of fashion like twitty titty and the like, would be a sad development. While I still don't entirely understand (or want to understand) the reasoning for the forum's utter cancellation we still don't know what the outcome of a new type of website will look like either (Ed mentions "this version", does it mean no forum at all or just a new type of forum??). So, patience might be a good advisor, I guess. Albeit being patient is a bit challenging at the moment since there's no news yet about the album (meanwhile Star Wars fans already have gotten two trailers ) and also a little bit frightening regarding the community's future.
Anyways, I'm eagerly looking forward to the new record and all things chemical heading our way.

"The Chemical Brothers have said that Tomorrow Never Knows by The Beatles has been like a mantra and inspiration for them and key songs like Let Forever Be reflect this. I communicated this visually by partly reinterpreting the Revolver artwork. I’ve incorporated a morphing silhouette of the audio recording reel that The Beatles originally used during the experimental looping processes they did whilst creating Tomorrow Never Knows. This is also the nature of The Chemical Brothers style of music too. This forms a ? hinting at the connection of both music titles from both Bands."What I sent through to meet the restricted count:"Tomorrow Never Knows by The Beatles has been a mantra for the group. Key songs like Let Forever Be reflect this and I’ve done it visually."

So it sounds like there won't be a new forum around by the time the new stuff drops. Are the Chems' technical gurus arranging to pay for, or host the new forum at some point?
If the forum suddenly disappears tomorrow, is there a plan for letting people know what (if anything) is happening? Do we need to all make sure we have a Facebook account and find Whirly on there?

Even though we still don't know what's going on... or when the forum's going down... or what's going to happen to the 13-year old archive... or what the "next version" will be like... or anything else because no one is telling us anything aside from the little bits and pieces we're allowed to get from Whirly...

Where? Who?
Forum/website staff, it would be great to have some kind of transparency from you!

@Skyscraper Actually go here, InChem's link is a mobile only link: https://www.facebook...ups/chemsforum/
And since it's looking more and more likely that a new forum will need to be set up, I'm thinking about collecting everyone's emails and sending out a group message once the project is finished. If this doesn't happen, I'm 90% sure a forum can be hosted at thechembase.com, so you could check there in a week or two

Saw your brilliant post earlier today on facecrack.
I would love it if the designers / admin could give us a heads-up on whats gonna happen to the archive, including some elaboration on the so-called 'space for our dialogue', it would give some good closure.
my bad on that link!
thechembase.com?? did you already snag that domain already? Damn WN! You're on top of your game. if i mind asking, whats the cost per year to run the site (forum)

I haven't snagged it yet, but it's unclaimed right now and probably will still by the time I talk to Explud. He knows what he's doing a lot more than I do and I'd rather not screw up this early in the process! So I'm waiting to talk to him. I'm seriously inexperienced in the area of servers/hosting (HTML/CSS/JS is as far as I've gone), but I'll learn quickly!
It's about $10-$15/year for the domain itself, plus a bit more than that for the hosting. There's probably additional costs on top of that but I don't know exact figures. But yeah, ~$40 a year I'm guessing.
