THANK YOU U.S.A.!!!

Current mood: thankful

Category: Friends

Chemical Brothers and Sisters,

Well, the dust has settled and the brothers are back in the UK, but many of us are still recovering from the Chemical Brothers U.S. tour.

Saturday's Nocturnal festival was truly majestic - one of the all time great Chemical Brothers shows that I've had the pleasure of seeing - and those of you that were there seem to agree. 25,000 people losing their minds to the sonic assault was a sight to behold!

Kudos to all involved and frankly the city of Los Angeles for allowing it to be proven that a mass gathering of dance fans adds up to a ton of positive energy and love. No violence, no bad vibes - just a generally wonderful night.

We also got to meet some of you from the MySpace and Chems website which was a real pleasure. I wish we had time tio say hello to everyone, but it was a tight schedule as you know. And a big shout out to Whirly Girl - so glad we got to meet you guys.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Where to begin with the thank you's for making the tour such a success? Well, that would have to be the crew! Everything that you saw on this tour was a well oiled machine made possible thanks to the tireless (and often sleepless) warriors behind the scenes.

The show is a huge undertaking and these gentlemen help make the powerful live vision of The Chemical Brothers a reality:

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Other key figures in the success of the US tour we'd like to thank:

Gerry Gerard and Claudia Tarry at Chaotica Booking.

Glenn, Justin, Alison, Jenni, the two Daves, Scott, Jake and all at Astralwerks.

Richard Winn and all at Zune for their positive and artistically sensitive support. We couldn't have done it without you.

The people at The Hammerstein Ballroom, McCarren Pool, The Riviera Theatre, The Filmore Auditorium, The Concourse, and Nocturnal.

Rob Rudolphy at Media Travel.

Allan and all at Filter.

All the promoters at Live Nation, Jam Productions, Another Planet, Insominiac Productions.

The trucking and frieght folks and all the kind people that provided transportation.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

But most importantly -

On behalf of Tom and Ed, thank you to the fans - old and new alike - that shelled out their hard earned money for tickets. The cross reference of types of people of all kinds and all ages was a potent reminder of what it's all about. We love you.

That's all for now - the boys are off to Russia for the first time and that's sure to be a historic time for all concerned.

Hopefully we'll get the Chems back sometime soon - I don't know about you, but I think Coachella is a good idea...? : )

Love,

Errol

Yeah, house renting might be a good idea. I don't know if I would be able to kick my parents out of their house in Redlands in order to accommodate all of the fuckwits.

Oh... I am flattered!!

And I knew there was a reason why, when I got out of the shower last night, my husband was pleading me not to go back onto the computer. Because this thread would have sucked me right back into inter-land!

My head is still reeling, I tell ya. Now the news of a Coachella possibility has kicked that afterglow right back into gear. It would be so fantastic if the Chemical Brothers came back to play that festival. My son wants to go and I think this would be a perfect opportunity to see the Brothers (and I promised him the next time they play the festival, he can come with us). If there is a good chance the Chems are going to play Coachella, it would be wise to start getting our ducks in a row right now.

Ah!! I'm in!

That would be an honor to be at the same gig with the whole whirlystash family.

I know, Darkstar's school is seriously stoppin' the rock. Big time. I know the weight of responsibility but Tim, if the Chems do Coachella - if there is any way at all you can come, it would be so awesome!

As for making Coachella a whirlystash family affair, I'd love for you guys to meet my son. He's a good kid and he's cool. When I went to pick him up at school today, we were driving home listening to The Pills Won't Help You Now (big surprise listening to the Chems, eh?) He started in on "...and today... I was doing some math with my best friend because my teacher splits us into groups to do our math... and do you know how big an eagle's nest is? It's 8 feet! Oh and hey, did the Chemical Brothers play this song when you saw the concert on Saturday?" And I said, "No honey, they didn't play The Pills Won't Help You Now" and he said, "Oh... OK, I thought they might have done that song." Then he dipped right back into the events of his day at school. Such a funny (if slightly ADD) kid...

I know. The worst part is that Coachella is AFTER exams, but I'm stuck doing a month's mandatory interning that ends the first Friday in May (ie. the week after Coachella). I can't fathom a way out of it but if there's a way, then I'll be there, you know I will.

If it was just a few days class, I'd be there in a shot but this is, unfortunately, far more important. I'm really wishing I'd gone this past weekend (although I did have a ridiculously good weekend back here).

I'll start scheming once the official Coachella dates are announced. Don't worry about that.

whirlystash.....your kid is awesome. knowledge of any band before there out of elementary school is out there. your teaching him well!

Imagine if he met Tom and Ed at coachella. they would really see how they are influencing generations of fans.

Darkstar, that sucks about the mandatory work in may.

My Friend is suppose to get back from his Church Mission (mormon) in Washington D.C. at the begining of March. We were suppose to go to Florida in May but there might be a little doubt now on his (well more his parents) part. Maybe I could convince the trip down to coachella now. We would have a massive time durig the chems set.
