and i mean things like insanely rare vinyls that are no longer in production (first JBO stuff) or things like dj sets. i'm sure there has been some discussion on this, but i want to know what everyones thoughts are on that.
i ask because i have a good collection of rarer dj sets, and don't want to get barked down if i offered to share, or asked around for ones i havent heard.
also, just having acquired digital rips of really really rare stuff like the first sabres mixes on JBO, etc, i feel like id want to share. i don't think it'd hurt the boys' pockets, but who knows? i dont.
and yes im aware theres an FTP, but searching the threads for it comes up with like 8 million results. id love to be in though.

Such stuff is perfectly fine. That's what we use he FTP for. As long as you financially support the chems in realistic ways, I think they'd have no problem with you grabbing tracks that they make no money off these days and you can't get otherwise, as well as sets that were never available for purchase in the first place. Just imo.

I will share with no problem. It's going to be shared regardless. I do, however still make a point of it to go out and buy the products that are available for the artists I like.
esp hwne it comes to the Chems. I believe that music was certainly made to be heard, not just to move product.

Yeah, rarities and anything else not available commercially has no question or moral dilemma attached. How is it stealing if it's not for sale?
I'm all for downloading music as long as it's not too outrageous. People that own terrabytes of music and have never purchased an album deserve prosecution. I don't even remember an entire album I've downloaded without purchasing--singles, I believe, should be distributed freely.
