Her crazy antics aside, it's hard to seperate the voice from her moonlighting as a priest/intervention counsellor/etc - I think Sinead has a beautiful voice, very ethereal and very passion filled. I used to be quite a fan of her music, once upon a time. But she became overbearing and too outspoken and at times very hypocritical and I felt this side of her really overshadowed her music. I found this unfortunate, as I think she is talented.
I think if she can sing and pull off a duet alongside Shane McGowan - the gruffest, most toothless drunkard in all of rock n'roll - then she could work with Chemical Brothers - why not? If it's simply because she's eccentric and a "baldy cunt" that's not a good enough reason... If it's because she's a bad mojo (as she's proven herself to be time and time again ) then, no, probably not a good idea!!!
chem'd, I know she's in the news a lot in Ireland and it's got to be grating - at least we don't have to put up with her in the States because she's nothing over here. Didn't she just write a letter to an Irish rag pleading with people to just leave her alone? Why would she feel the need to do that, it's like throwing more grease on the fire. And there was that whole thing with Shane McGowan and publically embarrassing him and going to reporters while trying to play off the do-gooder saint... the road to hell is paved with good intentions... Anyway, I think she kind of reaped what she sowed, as harsh as it sounds. If she wants people to lay off, she needs to lay low.
Now if we're gonna talk collabs, Beth is an obvious choice. She's practically the Chemical Sister! 8) I think Alison Goldfrapp would make a sexy stormer of a track with the Chemicals. Or Liz Frasier, I think I'd fall over dead if they did a track with her...

Ehhh, I feel kinda bad for Sinead O'Conner. I think she was really just trying to help, but totally expressed herself in the incorrect manner by tearing up the Pope's picture. I mean obviously that was gonna piss a LOT of ppl off. It's just ashame she didn't go about it another way b/c the backlash against her is immense.

Ah yes, the good ol Pope-picture-tearing incident. The deafening silence at the end of her set. I'll never forget watching that Satuday Night Live episode - I tuned in because of her! Man, that pissed a lot of people the hell off!! I remember churches going on Sinead record burning crusades! I can't say I was offended, yes - it was a symbolic gesture, but come on - it's a picture. I was shocked maybe at the time, but not offended.
Then there was the whole US national anthem incident. That pretty much blackballed her from ever performing on a stage in the US. I think the last time she tried was years ago... at Central Park. I think she was performing with or right after Bob Dylan, and she got booed off the stage.

I like Shane McGowan, just love his style especially with the Pogues n'all, but ewwwww. He's so crusty - damn straight, chem'd up. If he stopped drinking and doing drugs, he'd fall over dead from shock!!
What's horrifying is I worked with a Shane groupie, and she banged him. A few times! Imagined waking up and seeing this:

Alison Goldfrapp collab would be stunning, Thom Yorke would be interesting.
I had always wanted Kylie to collaborate with the Bros., but I think the Slow remix has satisfied that need.
Bjork, of course, would make an interesting choice for a nine-minute psychedelic journey ala Private Psychedelic Reel.
