Sounds like it's going to be another sample heavy album.

Dunno, it's got a very live band feel. And that's definitely Nile Rodgers' guitar. My guess is they've ascended to some higher plane of existence where they can just get famous 70's recording acts to play what they want and then sample it!

Apparently it is called "No End" and will officially be released March 13th. Not that that was from a credible source.
Further Remixed There's nothing else...

NO ! No, no no and no ! "No end" was a fake picture made by Daftworld, who calls himself the greatest Daft Punk fan but is nothing more than a douchebag who makes fake covers, fake new tracks and relays fake tracks on his blog and never aknowledges them as fake.

Hahahahahahahaha

Daft Punk's good, but seriously overhyped. This should be a fun build up to the album, but I'm not going to blow my load or anything until the album makes me.

Neither am I. Human After All was rubbish, and the Tron soundtrack never moved me, even a little. The whole 2006/2007 tour was awesome though. One of my friend thinks this album is going to be mostly acoustic, and I kind of think that too. But I hope we're both wrong. We don't need two Prince albums this year, one will be enough.

I didn't think much of either Human After All or Discovery until I heard Daft Punk's 2006/2007 live set. Loved what they did with their music when they transformed it into their stage performance.

I didn't love the Tron soundtrack, but I didn't dislike it. I liked the Louis Vuitton set they did much more than the Tron soundtrack.

Looking forward to their new album, but I'm also preparing myself to be underwhelmed. What I'm really looking to is what they do next with their next tour.

Absolutely love the Tr2n soundtrack! I listen to it a lot. Plus they use similar musical themes in the TV series. Yes, I am a Tron geek.

Yeah I'm guessing since Daft Punk have money now they can afford to recreate rather than sample now. Hopefully they stay true to their roots though and don't sound like an imitation of themselves with that.

I liked the Tron soundtrack for what it was and every now and then play my fave 3 tracks from it. The clash of distorted techy beats with the sound of a perfect orchestra I liked. Because everyone had been waiting for a new album after the buzz of the live tour and live album they were disappointed because it wasn't the new album wouldn't have helped.

But I guess because its been soooo long, everyone is expecting something epic perhaps now. But sounds like you guys have lost hope.... Again I liked elements of Human After All but not as good as homework or discovery or even alive 1997.

Eh? I don't think that's a consideration when making music. In fact it would cost more to sample because you have to obtain the rights.

What I meant was, they can afford to get the original artist who they love sampling to create something original for them. Much like they did with the the awesome Interstella 5555, where they got the original anime creaters they loved watching in there early days. Theres nothing wrong with that at all. Its actually respectful. I have no idea what would be more expensive these days. Surely it would be a case by case basis with the artists and the record companies and whoever owns the actual rights etc. Can of worms that one.

Ok but you're talking about music and video. Two completely different things. It's not about being able to get the original artist to create better music, it's about finding a sound that works and they found sampling lots of disco worked for them. Maybe that'll work again, maybe not. They sat in a studio, finding loops that sounded good and then built them up with the own musical talent.

Well I meant "acoustic" as in "non-electronic" instruments. So I guess what I mean is live instruments, yeah. Guitars, drums and keyboards rather than samplers, sequencers, drum machines and synthesizers.

This short snippet reminds me of their track "make love".

I really hope this doesn't turn out that boring!

I didnt mean: "It's not about being able to get the original artist to create better music"

I was more talking about the idea/approach behind it that was similar not whether it was video or music. And how they can find different angles now in creating things that they love. I'm not against sampling at all just putting that out there as well. You can create/re-create amazing songs with both and get results from both that one can't necessarily re-create like the other. And who wouldn't want to collaborate with your idols of all time if you had the chance to now and see what happened?
