I know it's early but Let's speculate about the next chems album ! Will it be a mix album like Brothers gonna work it out ? Will it have a bonus DVD like many many new CDs now ? What kind of tunes do you expect ?

I guess that there won't be a 6th album, I've heard a runour that they're going to split up.

I'd like something more into house music, but more like reinventing house...

But whirly, you knew it was gonna happen, people have always speculated about the Chems new releases long before they come out - which is really stupid as the Chems are always surprising us! All we can say is it'll be quality dance music.

May I remind everyone that a year ago, we'd only had Push The Button for 5 days!!

Well they are still makeing great sounding new music, showing they havnt lost there touch. The new intro track is wicked as is ebw 8, they played new tracks at the mills aswell. But I think its bad to have negative speculation about this, regardless of rumors. Like whirly I hope for a surprize in terms of any new music.

That's such a hard question to answer Ben_j!! The lucky people at Brixton and Turnmills got a taste of what's likely in store for the future but you never know - things can change and the future's not always certain!

I think it's fair enough we can talk about what we want from the Chems, but predicting what their next album is going to be like might be out of bounds...

Where's your source, if you're going to throw that out there at least back it up.

Please, I'm so sick of reading shit like this here.

Yeah, let's predict the future by tossing around the same tired rumor that resurfaces between all their albums.

(I think he was kidding, whirly)

But anyways, I've been predicting something a lot deeper, more intelligent, ..etc. Seeing how ptb was reaaally pop-ish I think they may be turning in a different direction for the next album. Well, I guess this is just what im hoping for, but whatever it is im sure we'll all be pleased.

more minimal than push the button and some twisted acid house tunes with hardcore hip hop beats.

I'm still looking out for this hypothetical tune I came up with as an idea in an earlier thread:

I'm sticking with my guns and saying an eight minute extended acid-shoegaze-anti-corporate-manifesto wall of sound featuring Bobby Gillespie and Kevin Shields would induce instant pantal creamification. Think EBW 7, but bigger, and better. Featuring remixes by Futureshock, King Unique and Underworld.

I hope so! And if he was, sorry for flying off the handle. It's just... well, the lull between albums seems to either produce rumors that a.) they're going to split up or b.) they're making a comeback.

To quote a funny bit I read on the Chems "coming back"

Rowlands grits his teeth at the description, pointing out it has only been about two years since their last studio album.

"It's not like we've been off trout farming for 10 years and now re-forming," he says.

X-D X-D X-D Trout farming!!!

EBW8 is the "Animal Song" track. It replaces EBW6 in the latest live sets (from the end of november to the january) and it has been played at Turnmills at NYE
