When I saw your post, I was hoping the pics were different from the Juno site. I was wrong, same pic!

This whole time, I thought this image was temporary until they get actual art later on for the album
It's Ok, but I see this stuff at stock photography banks.

Since this is limited, maybe they'll release it again with new art.

Nice! I see this is what I have to look forward to when I get my copy. :D
Speaking of which, was there any info inside/outside of the sleeve? Or was it a very white label-ish release?

Looks familiar. It'll be kind of exciting to see where this is going with respects to the official singles and the album covers. Drastic change from the last few..

The back cover - how much more black could this be? And the answer is none. None more black...

I'm just kidding around.

I share Biff's excitement!!

There's no chembros logo on it?
This cover art isn't strong enough for an album cover in my opinion. It's not bad at all, but nothing tooo special. It would make a perfect booklet page though!

Initially I like the simplicity, but Csar has a good point about it looking more like an insert.

We've seen some strong visiual branding from the Brothers' previous releases so I'll reserve full judgment until we see the complete marketing concept for the album, singles and videos.
Gonna work it out...

This art is fine for a promo, i'll rage if it's the album cover though.

Yeah, this is just a promo. Doubt the rest of the singles will even follow this visual theme.
Speaking of which, anybody know if Kate will be doing the art again? Seems like a good question to ask the Bros.

I've been wondering that myself. I'm not sure what to expect. I would think the artwork would be a variation on the accompanying visuals since the DVD is being marketed along with the music. So I don't know if that would leave room for a Kate Gibb original. Good question, though!

Your love keeps lifting me...

Defined a little more formally, "escape velocity" is the initial speed required to go from an initial point in a gravitational potential field to infinity with a residual velocity of zero, with all speeds and velocities measured with respect to the field

well escape velocity is not a full official release. no radio edit, no cd single or no promo video. it is a promo to put some music out to get people excited about the chems again before the album is launched. i'm really wondering if there is going to be a full on official single released for this album.

Did you try playing the flip side to hear the cryptic hint that starts off the Further alternate reality game?

I'm pretty sure there's gonna be a official single release, If you look at Chems home page, there's no mention of the EV vinyl release at all, so I think the news should break the same way the tracklisting for 'Further' came out, which would be this website and the Chems email list.

I dont know Inchem, I'm with Sneaker with the "no single" theory. This just doesn't seem like your typical album release from The Chems.

And you complainers really are rough, what is wrong with this art? I think it fits perfectly for the track.

Maybe Bosco!

But the fact remains that there's always been an official single release for chem albums. We just got to wait and see..

....but then again it's all good if it goes either way.

about the single release theory:

somebody here in the forum posted a link to a film director a while ago. in this article the director (he's doing surf movies btw) said that he's in the process of shooting the new chemical brothers video.

if so: we get the first official single (+video) really soon. my tip: warm vibe track (after hearing it a few times - first i thought it can be some b side stuff from the chems or the japan only single; but hey it's a grower ;)).

Yeah, ironically, that was posted by me. But it seems with the new information we have, that article isn't true. What we do know is that Mr FlatNose is in charge of the videos for the album. Perhaps Adam Smith might have collaborated with Richard Stewart (the guy from the article that did the surf videos)? We'll have to wait and see...
