I'm all in favor of trying to spread love as we head off into the weekend.

Relating to another post:

Why do I love the chemical brothers? Because when I was riding the subway during my first week of work, once again I prepared for one of the most annoying sounds in human history: a long, high-pitched continuous beep that somehow rings in your ears for at least five minutes, signaling to the passengers of the subway cars of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation System that the stairs are rising, allowing for the dropoff of passengers to elevated platforms in the underground.

On this particular day, however, I happened to be listening to The Sunshine Underground, and something amazing happened. As the subway train entered the section where this hideous sound usually occurs, the first minute of my favorite Chemical Brothers song was streaming from my iPod, and somehow the chord progression of the song harmonized perfectly with the noise, creating an awesome, echoing effect, transforming my reality from pain into beauty.

Why do I love the Chemical Brothers? Because they help make my world an amazing place to be.

When we listen to the chems in the car, we're always noticing strange little bits of synchronicity with the music.

Sometimes something sybcs up so perfectly its scary.

I always synch up things myself to. For example , when the beat kicks in and i walk on the street i make a bigger step. I usually walk in time with the music. All the busses and people on bicycle's and trees and everything synch up to everything.

Anyway that was a cool story Madpooter! Cant wait to meet you. Make sure you pm me youre nr when you come to Ams!

MadPooter, I dig that story!! What you said makes perfect sense. I can picture the scene and hear the music and how it becomes immeshed with the landscape - transforming the drudgery and mundanities of day-to-day life into something that makes you stop for just a moment and see the beauty that lies just under the surface.

The same has happened with me on so many occasions, it's become this sort of phenomenon that sounds insane when explained on paper, but if you get caught up in these moments of synchronicity, it is revealed and makes sense. stash and I have this goofy game "let's see if that syncs up to Surrender" and it's good for a laugh and fun to show to friends (Darkstar knows what we mean). But this weird phenomenon happens with other songs. It's not so much how it affects the movement with yourself, but how it becomes immeshed with everything going on around you. It's weird, it's connected somehow, but it can be so hard to explain when it's easier to discard it as a "you had to be there" experience. I think because there is so much movement in the music there are bound to be times when it all comes together.

It is strange how movement (whether you're moving, or things are moving around you) not only compliment the music but become a backdrop to the music. There's been times when I've driven along and I'll hear this squiggle in a Chems song and across my line of vision I'll see a formation of birds flying by right at that moment. Or other times when the car is hugging a curve, the song sways along with it. Or driving up a hill as a song is peaking. Or landing at Heathrow listening to Hold Tight London. Or when I walked that marathon and hearing Sunshine Underground on my ipod when I hit the 3rd mile, and being so into my head but seeing the movement of everything around from the waves crashing on the beach to the people running or walking past me. It's cool.

For me, so many memories seem to stay buried in my subconscious until the moment I hear the song that triggers that particular memory's release. It's strange, and beautiful.
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle
