I was just at the Oxegen festival in ireland, Irish fan and Chem'd up will know of it and its advantages.....and disadvantages X-D

Generally the festival has a widely known repuatation for being very scummy. There were alot of Scumbags there and the stories Ive heard from this weekends festival have been really really sad, some english guy got all his stuff stole and everything and on the last night in Campsite A there was a riot and tents getting burnt, eventsec called in and everything, really really mad stuff!

But my experience however was soo sweet really, I had no problems whatsoever, really good weekend I say. We set up in Campsite B, i was really worried incase some scumbag hassled us for any reason whether it be about trying to steal our stuff, burn my tent, piss on my leg or anything. (thats the kind of stuff ya'd half expect). But really, no problems, we set up camp (it was a sunny day..well sunny enuff). Started drinking a little. It was the friday so no acts or anything, just general floating about checking out the site. Our nieghbours were really dead on they were from Dublin, Rafarnham. Really nice people we talked and got to know them a bit (ya know make friends with the neighbours) They had lost their pegs... we were generous enough to give them one peg, the got set up anyway. By doing this we kinda got out backs covered if any shit was to come up. We didnt really bring much stuff to the festival cause we wernt gonna get victimised by wankers. But any stuff we did have we put it inside the actual tent wereyou sleep (locked that with a tiny lock), then the outside of the tent was also locked so really there was no way of getting in and stealing anything unless your tent was burnt out slashed.

Anyway friday night, it was good, I had some drinks we had a laugh, no trouble what so ever. Friday night was good, during the night however, it started raining, for the people with shite tents that was crap but for us it was good, cause my tent is class :P

all in all i seen RHCP Franz ferdinand kasier cheifs placebo Bellx1 Manu Chao The Charlatans Paul Weller Goldfrapp The Zutons The Kooks Sigur Ros Ben Harper Clap Your hands say Yeah Mylo James Brown The Who The Strokes Artic Monkeys The Magic Numbers Primal Scream THe GO ! Team Gomez The Upper Room Dirty Prtty Things Zero Jose Gonzalez Regina Spektor Vitalic

Saturday is when the music started, it was really really bad weather all day saturday but it didnt stop me from going and rockin' to some music.

Me and my friends were drinking and so was I, I didnt get to drunk though, just tipsy really so i couldnt feel the pain from jumping/walking around too much.. :P

Dance Arena was good I heard some really good tunes, Josh Wink - Higher State of Coincence being one of them... hahah!

I think it was a guy called Headman on set.

I seen Zero 7 on saturday too, they were really really good i really enjoyed them and Jose Gonzalez came onstage aswell and played a song with Zero7. It was brilliant.

I also seen the go team and primal scream, they were both really good, primal scream wernt the best, they were pretty hammered but they played my favorite song so i was happy. I seen a bit of the who from a distance, i dont really know much of the who but i know who they are and all that so i mean as a music lover I had to see these guys for real and for the record type thing so i watched and they were really enjoying it and the crowd seemed too aswell, but what rreallly topped off my night was James Brown damn, that guy is such a legend, hes like 73 or something and he still did that freaky style dance.

Saturday in all was really really fast paced, we were constantly running around checking out all kinds of bands and shows.

On sunday the weather was alot better, i got drunk again :P But same as yesterday on enuff to feel no pain 8)

I seen the main act i enjoyed was probably Vitalic, Mylo and Clap your hands say yeah.

Sunday was alot more relaxed, definately the weather was great and the atmoshpere was really good too, i fell asleep for an hour at the mainstage on the grass listening to placebo waking up to find a guy i hadnt seen in ages was great.

Seen a bit of Red Hot Chilli Peppers, theyre another one for the record.

Oh yeah! I was at Mylo and seen some guy with a homemade chemical brothers shirt, i just stopped and went WTF!! YEOO!... *tap tap*... I WAS AT THAT GIG!! ...''Wha??''....I WAS AT THAT GIG!!... OH! OH!!..then he tapped his mate on the shoulder and said he was at marlay park!! im like yeaaaaooo!! .. aawwhh chems reunion, i tried to ask him if he goes on the forum, who knows, but if your out there dude, it was a pleasure, hope ya enjoyed mylo, i fucked off for Sigur Ros and RHCP.

Anyway at 11pm Sunday me and the gang (oh yeah there were 3 other people with me, Higgies(he was at the chems gig), Newitt, and Kirsty).

We all decided to go home on sunday instead of Monday cause we were soakin, stinkin and smelly and just generally wrecked. It was definately a good call too cause the amount of shit happened that night was outrageous, thank fuck we did leave. We got the bus back to dublin stayed the night in dublin and arrived back home today

It was a great weekend for me but a really really bad for some, I feel lucky.

Glad you had a really good time, Foxy. The band lineup sounds pretty solid. Too bad about the scumsuckers around.

(Really contrasts with my weekend, where I left all my stuff in my tent, completely open and unlocked. No problems at all.)

The Winnipeg Folk Festival. Over 300 artists over 4 days. 30 minute drive from my house. An odd blend between a great family environment and a total drugged-out free-for-all.

Check out Buzzed Posting for my review, summary, etc.

This old man,
he play beats,
He don't need no music sheets,
but with a snip-snip-snippy-snip
gave his mop a chop,
Old man hairstyles are a flop.
