hey Ben_j! I see you're working with FL Studio as well, which version do you have and do you have some nice VST Plug-Ins or some cool drumkit samples or synths/pads or whatever? Could you show me a pic of how you're programming your tunes?
I'll check out your track soon, cause i have my snail-modem you know, would take hours to download it from here . . .

I work with FL 4.51, I have 5 and 6 aswell, but I prefer the 4 because it's easier to resize the samples... I think I have several synths, including a dozen of Moog synths
is a Fruity version 6 out there ? Or did you mean 4.6? (What did you pay for it?) Well i've got a demo of FL Studio 5.0 and i think it's kinda great coz of the many advantages and new features in it like the sytrus VST . . . Well would it be ok for you to sort me out some nice VSTs? Do you have cool drum kits or snares and basedrums (real kits)?

Hello again! Finished this song a few days ago. I don't know which genre it fits in so I'll just say it's electronic. :-D
Please take a listen (and tell me if you like it or not): Dust Bunnies
(and as promised, I will comment on some of your tracks soon soon soon!)

ok, ive uploaded a minimalism piece i did for college onto my music v2 site.
its called office politics and it can be found here:
www.musicv2.com/artist/mippio
i only used 4 sound sources - a flex clock ticking over, a keyboard being typed, a beep from the coffee machine and a phone dialling tone. All the sounds were smapled from the office i work in.
the main rhythm is the sound of the flex clock ticking over, and i used a technique steve reich used for 'the hand clapping song' - basiaclly u write a simple rhythm for 2 parts (in this case the flex clock, and the flex clock duplicated but tuned up 3 semit tones) then after a certain number of bars u shift one rhythm 1/16th to the left - u then repeat this until u are back at the stary.
its kind of a 'concept' piece (for want of a better description) and it kind of signifies the average day in the office - flex clock relentlessly marching on etc etc and repetitive and intense and heavy - like a bit of your brain and soul being eaten away.
by using less parts it means u gotta focus on whats there, and new things appear in the song each time u listen to it (apparently - its a psyycho acoustic trick when you listen to stuff with loads of space in it)
anyway pretentious bollox or interesting piece? listners, you decide ;)
cheers
