I thought I'd post this topic just for the hell of it as a place for all of us to point out songs we've heard the chems sampled in, that maybe the rest of us might not know about (yes everyone know's schooly d is the guy sampled in brb).

I came across 2 today just by luck:

Song To The Siren

Found on Let It Bump by Missy Elliot.

Playground For The Wedgeless Firm

Found on Wig Out by Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth

I thought the Chems sampled the "siren" in song to the siren in another track (a classic hip hop track I think)?

To be fair, the siren was sampled by the Chems from another track/movie. And that beat loop in PFAWF is sampled from a funk record... can't remember the name of it right now...

yeah i wasn't implying the chems sampled it from them, given that the missy track was in 2003 . What I meant by this thread that if you hear anything that's been in a chems track else where this would be the place to post it

Ah yes, I remember just making a topic on that lately. Didn't we decide that both the Chem's and Fatboy were using this same DJ tool that had that beat? So, really, they both sampled that instead... its a good beat, I love both songs.

I don't think so... Norman has always claimed that he was inspired by the Chems so I guess he sampled them.

yeah, the sample he or they used sound really similar to BRB but the beat itself isn't the same as i can listening right now. And why not, i do use some samples in two tracks at the same time but just the snare or basedrum or whatever, but it depends on what you're doing with them . . .

I think FBS just changed the pitch or something like that. The beat in BRB sounds more heavy, in Ya Mama it's a bit faster

he cant have sampled it directly from brb beacuse theres no point in the track where its just clean drums, its always got the bassline or squiggly noises on it.
