whats the best promo idea or item you've ever seen come with a cd or album



supergrass did an australia only "bag o grass" with the first 5 cd singles and a tshirt.



cool keith just had a 3" promo cd out called "drugs" and it had a wrap of coke with it! upon tasting i ascertained it wasn't coke....:( great idea though!

they have crazy packages for a lot of the "Canto-pop" CDs here, with T-shirts and who knows what else.. the boxes are almost all bigger than normal (it seems to me a contest of which can grab your attention...) and the section with those CDs looks really awkward..

Jeez, this one I really had to think about. I see a lot of promo crap, mainly run of the mill t-shirts, stickers, postcards, and stuff like that - stuff that's quick and easy and cost efficient, not too clever.



Hmmm.



This doesn't have to do with music, but the movie Fight Club. Back before the movie came out on dvd and vhs, my store got a small box of posters as well as promotional soap with wrapping that said Fight Club (same type as the movie logi) on it.

Fight Club....exactly. Best promo ever! I got my ass kicked in the Wal-Mart electronics section......and I didn't even have to pay for it! ..haha............Twice!

okay...i guess I would say it isthe one I just got. I just the promo that was the first and most likely, only promo of Galvanize played on Atlanta airwaves.

Plasticman released a CD about 11 years back and the cover was a heavy blotter paper cut up to look like a sheet of acid.... I always thought that was cool.... and one of Becks early vinyl singles came with a fingrpainting done by Beck himself.

Don't know if this is a promo but Lemon Jelly's first single (Soft / Rock) was 2 7"s. One came in a brown paper bag, the other in a denim pocket complete with a free condom!!



Don't think I'll buy this one from ebay then!! X-D

I know its not a promo but i do like the Peace Orchestra CD which came with a real band-aid on the front with PEACE ORCHESTRA printed on it and then you took the skin coloured sleeve out and there was a little cut underneath! so cute!



And then spiritualized had their big "Ladies and gentlemen..." Pill cd's that were packaged at an actual medicine packaging factory!



Oh, and on a chemical note, does anyone remember the promo tshirt you got for free if you bought CWU from JB hifi on the day it came out or the day before? Of all the sizes they didnt have... why no SMALLS??? I came home with my rather enormous MEDIUM... which of course i wore everywhere before the historic purchase of my 2 twin star guitar tshirts in red and blue [blue in much worse condition for some reason,] and before i made my chemical dress that said: "CHEMICAL GERL" on the back. Despite the fact that those blue promo shirts with the yellow logo on them ON the back UP too high and NOTHING on the front looked like shit.



Seriously, anyone else get one of those? i know i got it for free and everything but sheesh moreesh!

I missed out on that Spiritualized pill case. I do have the limited edition of Let It Come Down with the inverted image of the girl's face. The eyes follow you!!! Creepy!!!



I would love to have a Star Guitar shirt!!! Oh my goodness, that is my favorite Chemical artwork (though I still love the giant yellow lips from the Elektrobank single)



I love the artwork from Star Guitar so much I did that giant wallboard for my work, rather than use the cover art from Come With Us. It now hangs proudly in my house, taking up a good portion of my livingroom.

there's a band called picastro, quite unknown, and the inlay of their CD seems to be handmade as well, like being small part of some big artwork

I was talking to a guy from my college's radio station and he said he got this huuuge ass plastic billboard with the chem's logo on it. Said he'd give it to me.

it is not a promo but i got the first "the black velvets" cd and 6'vinyl. it actually comes in a black velvet case, and the cd looks like a miniture vinyl. i also got a black t-shirt with the white writting on it when i went to see them in liverpool, then a few days later i got given a badge with there name on
