and no... before anyone bites my head off I'm not asking "when are the Chems going to release a live album or DVD".....

I was just wondering if anyone thought about the Chems creating an album with instruments played by musicians, live vocalists etc etc...

Imagine the sound of Sunshine Underground played by a full size orchestra.. admittedly the person playing the flute may get a little tired, but I'm sure you could arrange some tag team kind of thing hehe...

I reckon it's possible.. there are lots of tracks which could go on.. like The Private Psychedelic Reel... Pioneer Skies... Galvanize...

obviously some of the electronic sounds would have to be adapted to suit traditional instruments.. but i think it would be great!

Hehe - the idea has been tossed about before. :)

(Sorry, I'm in a thread archiving kinda mood this evening)

I've sometimes wondered what it would sound like to have a full scale orchestra play a Chems tune, but then my mind's ear just goes back to how the Chems made it.

I wonder if that idea has ever been brought up on an industry level? I'm thinking something like that would have leaked, though.

That said, I'm not sure I'm ready to hear an orchestral interpretation of the music the Chems have already done. I'm not saying it would be bad, but when I think of those symphonic Rolling Stones and symphonic I immediately think of cheese. Cheese that has long since gone bad and thus should have been tossed out the fridge ages ago.

What would be a real trip would be like one of those Langley School Projects... if you have no idea what I'm talking about, just google David Bowie + Langley Schools and listen to what links you can find.

well, not that it's a full orchestra, but Shinichi Osawa's Star Guitar was a cover...

In a french synth magazine (just before We Are The Night) Tom & Ed were saying that they though to let musicians play their music for live act, but they saw Daft Punk in live and they decided to continue with machines ;)

At the end they said that they will maybe do that at the end of their carrer, a bit like Death In Vegas...

A lot of the sounds are real instrumentation (ex. tom's bass line for "come inside").

It's not really right for this genre music. I have a feeling it would turn out very bad. Plus, how can you have "acid sounding" instrumentation. Well, at least I expect new material to go back to acid. :P

The Chems can't put out a live CD or DVD......would face too many law suits because of all the CD and DVD players melting!
