Aww, that sucks that your being ill is interfering with your plans to see your son. :(

But you definitely need to take a breather and get some rest.

Gotta get healthy for your son and so you can do copious amounts of damage to your body at Coachella! ;)

I started my job for the fed gov't. I have a teal cubicle and a lot less time to check my email - grumble grumble.

Oh, but you are EMPLOYED, sir! ;-)

You're supporting yourself in one of the nicest cities in the United States. Remember that.

Fuckin right!

I was going insane; nothing worse than felling like your life is on hold until you can make changes (ie job, living, etc.) that appear nearly impossible. I'm one who dislikes routine and the inability to move around in one way or another.

Biff--try to go to the Ratatat show tonight. I'm sure you'd dig it!

I'm pissed because I'm not going to get to go. I've been sick for the past week and didn't have the energy to make my way down to the Fillmore last night to grab a scalped ticket. :-(

And I'm seriously happy for you, once again, that you've got a job where you can fully support yourself. I don't know if you have a clear idea of what that means to have gotten a diploma from UCSC and been able to work and live in Santa Cruz after finishing it, even if you had to take a temporary leave of absence from the place.

I'll definitely come down and visit soon enough!

And I'll let you know about Coachella in the next week, by the way. I might end up not going, unfortunately, but it's still up in the air.

POOTER! POOTER! POOTER! POOTER! POOTER! POOTER! POOTER!

PS. Ratatat is a very cool show, I recommend it. Look out for the track Shempi, it's a eargasim.

And so apropos!

I'll tell you on the road trip. :)

In my mind, by the way, Coachella is still a go for me. I'm still working out the details with scheduling a few things.

schedule?! They can't touch you on weekends! That's free-time molestation. I think that's the legal term for it.

Hey Biff--looks like I'm a go as far as my work schedule goes. I also need to check with my family to see if the possible event that was going on that weekend isn't going to go on. Last I heard it wasn't.

But assuming that all is a go, how'd you like to come up the night before we drive down and catch Groove Armada's DJ set @ The Mezzanine? Or possibly even Plump DJs at Mighty? I'd rather do the latter, mostly because I haven't been to Mighty and I want to check out the scene.

Let me know what you think, and I'll verify the family stuff. w0000000000000000000!

So we had a power outtage on Saturday. It went off for about 30 minutes, then clipped back on for about a minute, then went back off, then clipped back on for 2 seconds, then went back off again for a couple of hours.

Somewhere in all of this electric outtage fuck wittery, my computer died. We checked the power surges where everything was plugged into and those were fine, so it's something internal with the computer. We're hoping it's just the processor and that our hard drive and motherboard aren't fried. We'll find out on Friday when we take the comp to the Geek Squad to see if they can diagnose the problem.

Damn piece of shit PC.

Fuck you, power surges. you fried my Korg Mono/poly when I was trying to fix the simple key contact problem. http://photos-b.ak.f..._47865_3905.jpg

she was so young!

Anyway, Pooter, if we weer able to see the chems and drive to LA last time, I'm sure we could pull it off again. I haven't heard Plump DJ's yet, but I could do my homework. I'd be cool with Groove Armada though, I enjoy the Mezzanine for the most part.

Awww! RIP Biff's Korg.

Yeah, I was thinking that if you wanted to bring your girlfriend I could find some ladyfriend of mine to bring as well. Groove Armada would definitely fit the bill.

blah, I know that's the 100,000 post of me lamenting about my mono/poly

anyway, I'm digging the idea, although my gf is probably not going to coachella, but if i get my first payday before then, I may just get her a ticket. otherwise it'll be Manfest 2009

The Power companies never tell you when they're working on the grid. A shame that your valued electronics got the kiss of death. If im correct, you can be reimbursed for your perished items by filing a claim. Damn spikes!

One time, I was at work when my roommate called me and told me that she smelled something burning in her room so she followed it to my room where smoke was coming out of my computer. She unplugged the strip from the wall and called me at work. So I drive home and found that only my power supply died but everything else was Ok. But my other roommate, who also wasn't there at the time, got the worst of it! Both his DVR and his Blu-ray player went adios!

I was pretty much more concerned if my hard drive died.So much stuff I saved on it. I backed it up immediately after the electronic casualty count.

Good times for you Biff and Poot, as I haven't seen the Plumps DJ's, nor will I see them @ Coachella. I only got this week and next week to grind it out some more at work before the big reward on Saturday. Hopefully Whirly, the damage will be minimal and get your computer running ASAP.

End of line!
