Yeah, those are really heavy lyrics. There's been times... when I really couldn't listen to this song. Not because I don't like it. I think it's brilliant. But it was just too heavy in my heart.

Exactly how I feel about it. I usually only listen to it if I'm listening to the whole of EPD, or if I feel like wallowing in depression, the latter which I try to avoid nowadays because, although it is sort of addicting and hard to avoid (for some?), it really makes one's soul sick and eventually begins to ruin life in the longterm. Does that make sense?

Alive Alone's never depressed me. True, the lyrics are quite heavy and dark, but - for me - the instrumentation of the track almost counteracts the effect of the lyrics. It gives me a feel of static emotion - it doesn't bring me down, it doesn't bring up, I just feel, not sure if that makes sense, but it's something I don't experence in any other piece of music.

Hmmm .. well I was permanently stoned back then. And I never really had any favorite bands or music so I listened to whatever my friends were into. Trying to recall .. Pink Floyd, Bowie, Yes, Beatles, lots more I can't think of now ... plus all our local pubs always had live music. The best Aussie bands used to do the rounds. Plus some embarrassing shit too .. supertramp, doobie brothers and others I'd rather not remember.

I totally missed the whole rave scene, which I am kicking myself about now. Too busy working, raising children etc. Then I saw the Chems live in 08 and haven't looked back.

You are not alone in thinking it is odd. I went to the Prodigy a few months back, waiting outside having a few drinks with my misses before it started. I couple of guys in their 20's come up to me and say .. "what the fuck are you doing here?" I looked at them and say "well what the fuck are you doing here". They could believe that we were into the Prodigy. Now that is odd to me.

Ended up getting on well with these guys, they went and saw ACDC a few weeks before. When we told them we seen the heaps of times when we were younger before Bon Scott died they were in awe.

^ I don't think is odd, I think is awesome because It shows how The Chems music is amazing for all ages.
Back when I saw them in their PTB tour (Burrito explosion lol) there was this liitle girl with his father (around 8 years old) next to me and she was really enjoying the gig, she was so excited about the lights and the music that you could saw it on her face.

 You found me out ... lol. A little embarrassed by the question but I wanted ask something other than the usual sort of stuff, something that would get an answer. I didn't think they would reply. Made my day when they did.

Thanks for the nice words too Whirly girl .. you guys are my inspiration. The Chems have brought so much fun into my life .... it is nice to talk to like minded people about them.
