I recently got the Scissor Sisters selft tittled album. I had no idea bout them/ even now don't except the music, and they rock. I had to happen to hear their take on Comfortably Numb earlier and had a total wrong impression if you know what I mean. Life's been a bit rough recently and i just cried to myself after 2 yrs, and the album was playing along, n helped in the release. So I'm guessing this album is pretty good, third spin since i got it 10 days back i think. Might wear out, but is definitely a very nice album. Anyone got more info on this band/ djs, whatever? Anyone seen em live?
Is there more music, sorry I don't feel like googling, i'd like to just get a forum idea.
Very good album, much better than most of Moby's depressive crap.

Oh no, I just wikipedia'd them n find it sad bout em being a gay band, with some of em gays, n mary being "platonic" love, but damn, i really wish they weren't, cause the music and songwriting is fucking good. n so's the production. tho the starting of the album was pretty intense, not it sounds much more poppier. or gayer. damn, damn, damn.
They've had many no.1 singles in UK and have supposed to have got a lot of critical n commercial success too. Can i get to hear the brits here say something more along their lines.
"The band counts David Gilmour of Pink Floyd, Roger Daltrey of the Who, U2 and Elton John among its fans."

Maybe i'm just really openminded but what the hell is wrong with Gay bands ?!
Oh wait , i'm not openminded. I would be if i posted this in 1949. But we live in 2006! Gays rule the world!
And i love em

but isn't that whats great about songs/lyrics etc?....it means one thing to one person and something else to another?...yeah it's great to hear what the writer was thinking about what they wrote it but part of the joy is that the words can be applied to you/your life/situation....I guess that's why the words to one song can touch many different people regardless of gender/background/class/colour/sexual orientation/operating system preference/fave cheese
as for the gay thing.....for gods sake man. it's music....if you like it then thats enough. what the fuck does it matter if they're gay. if you like club based music nay any music really then you're going to owe a debt to people with different sexual preference/race/colour/hair style/bacon cooking preference to you (I grill mine)
not into the scissor sisters myself but thats what makes the world go round isn't it?

Scissor Sistors are a big pile of year old semen. I had to see them live 'cos a mate likes them and it was torture. One of the main characters of the band was going on about trannie rights :? The only rights trannies have is the right to get put in a lab and tested on.

I'm not big on the Scissor Sisters, don't like their music. And fuck. I find it sad and disheartening that anyone would choose to dismiss the sincerity and emotional impact of a song simply because it was written by a gay person. It kind of makes me sick to my stomach actually the same way it makes me sick when I hear about white power bullshit and their twisted and irrational approach to justify their sick means. Love has always been and continues to be complex and amazing, and for it to be put in song is a beautiful and pure thing - no matter who wrote it. If you enjoy the music that's the only thing that should matter.
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

I like their first album, its quite fun in my opinion. I could really care less if the band is gay, since im 17% gay. But I assure you, only 2% of that is purely sexual. :-D
