Holds somewhere between 8 and 10k, depending on set up. Still ads running in the Sunday papers, so should be ok, but best not to be complacent.
And Electric Picnic looks some line up - Bjork, Primal Scream, Jesus and Mary Chain, Beastie Boys... a belter of a weekend in store.

No worries, Jack - you're not derailing the thread at all. This is exactly the type of discussion I was hoping for! So many interesting things said so far.
Csar, you totally hit the nail on the head for me. It's not so much that I don't like the transition from Saturate to Believe (because Believe live... oh my god, it's really fricken awesome!) But it's the pitch on Kele's vocals. And how they are brought in so soon while Saturate was still going on. I can hear what the Brothers are trying to achieve, but the whole pitch on the Believe vocals seemed a little weird.
I don't get why so many people want Come With Us as an opener. It worked well during the Come With Us tour but that was then and this is now. It's been done... I think the reason why Galvanize was used as an opener this time around is because it's got the whole "world... the time has come to..." message to get the audience pumped. And I think MadPooter is right - Galvanize as an opener will do well here in the States because the song is instantly recognizable having been so commercially successful.
And though I love the Tomorrow Never Knows intro, I think it was time for a change. No Path To Follow is an apt intro to the gig, and it ties in with the Sunshine Underground as being the show closer. Would be awesome to hear the No Path To Follow sailing right into We Are The Night as a show opener - but that would mean the Chems would have to rearrange their set. It seems easier said than done just because of all the mixing they do from one song to the next as it is. They must have spent a lot of time trying to put together all the pieces just to make what they have currently work in a live setting.

Yeah Electric Picnic is destined to be a bit of a rave up with an older (wiser!) crowd.A lovely combination. And just on the whole setlist thing,as much as we'd like to change this or that part I seriously doubt that its gonna happen.CWU to re appear personally I would love but I just dont see it.The Brothers have put together a fairly rigid show in terms of the actual songs.Only change I can really spot seems to be a small rotation between Das Spiegel and AMMC with the former appearing most frequently.Though the show I was at in Amsterdam they did AMMC whereas I would have prefered Spiegel!Dont forget, any new additions to the set would require new visuals aswell, thats why I wouldnt be too hopeful.

Burst generators visuals, mixed with the song itself, would do me in for life...
I'd be so stunned by the sheer force of the sounds, that I'd ignore everything around me, and mentaly float up on stage...
I really do wanna hear and see that song live!!
Those hammerstine tickets up there would help a great bit...
frigin Chems, only going to 2 citys in the us... how darned rediculous

Has anyone noticed that spacey vocal noise (the "wah aaaah") from Denmark that they've added to the set? I can't remember exactly which transition it is but it can be heard in the second half of the Munich set.
Anyways, I liked how they added that.
And I would really like for the Reel to be returned, as well as maybe some crazy mash-up of Chemical Beats with EBW 9 bass and, dare I say, the wicked acid of EBW7? Anyways, I would like some more EBW 7 than just "You're all my children now"

hahaha Slipvin - About the No Path To Follow at the beginning. One can grab a quick bite in the intro time alone!
sneakerbeater is keeping it old skool with the comment about The Reel. In some ways, I agree. I'm eternally grateful I got to finally hear it played out live. But I imagine they must get so sick of playing that song after all these years and all those shows. Then again, it's nice to have traditions and The Reel is definitely one such tradition.
That galloping sound, those manic beats that feel like they are charging underfoot in EBW 7 really do move a crowd. But I don't think their sets would be enhanced by the entirety of playing out EBW 7.
I did notice how Hoops/EBW6 was excluded. Man, that was such a rush, just like the Fuji part on the dvd. Live, that piercing wail cuts through your soul like butter, and the manic look on Tom's face he gets when he cranks that up turns him into a mad scientist of sorts.
But now I'm just reminiscing. It's just the nature of things as time marches on, the sets have to change and adapt. It would be impossible to add everything and start re-arranging the set... unless the Chems started playing longer. ;)

QUESTION???? have they been switching up the set list show to show or should expect the same as munich and glastonbury when they come to the states?E
There are some variations between sets, and from what I've read there is some jamming going on during the gigs which would lend itself to little changes here and there with the sets. The Chems have been known to switch things up, though - which is cool. They ran home last tour and got the data for Morning Lemon so they could add that song to their sets due to people asking for it. And I also truly believe they brought back Sunshine Underground this time because so many people on this forum were quite vocal with saying they'd like to hear it brought back to their live sets.
I imagine they'd want to not only keep their audience entertained by switching things up, but they also would want to keep things interesting for themselves so it's not the same old thing day in and day out.

And isn't it a good thing whirly, is it ?! It's such an honor that they include things just because of wishes of us memebers here.
It truely made me smiling when I heard it on the second gig in Germany back in 2005. I thought "man, didn't we talk about it that it would be ace in a live set, did we?"...

while currently listen to munich (and remebering the glasto vids) here's my opinions....so far
All rights resereved I've actually grown to like more through the live show rather then the album. I guess cutting up the klaxons vocals helped a little I guess.
don't fight it/doesn't matter/OOC i think is cool. I'm looking forward to seeing if they release that on a future EP.
Temptation/star guitar hasn't changed much but I love how they took all the bass drum at the start of the emptaion and leaves you waiting on high for it to drop.
going from It doesn't matter to saturate I love (first off all the new acidy bass line in IDM) mainly how they take the drum roll explosion and just bring it to the minimal bass line.
Sunshine underground is back. Awesome!!!! though it's where TPPR usually is (I'm still a little, not much, pissed they didn't end in oakland with that).
I still can't get into burst generator that much. It still feels like I'm listening to the last credits track in the Hackers movie from the mid 90's.
What I want to hear still though in the show. them work on that 'animal track' (I know scrapped project but it was brilliant), full elektrobank, a new onstage collab (like tim burgees or magic numbers in the past). I'd say tim smith from midlake for pills, I think that could be intresting live.

Yeah we are discussing the live set. Sorry to spoil the excitement for the ones who haven't seen it but hey, you listened to the Munich set otherwise you wouldn't read this.
OK the good stuff:
The Chems always have a long intro. And just before "ok now stop it" they come on stage.
Galvanize is a great opener. Just the very basic beats (to say in Jeanies) "boooom chkchk chkchk chkchk chkc boombooom tududududu" and so on. EXCELLENT!!!
Burst Generator IMO a bit early but an excellent track. And it gives direction where the live set is going to.
Do it again is fucking amazing live. PERIOD!!! And as Whirly says the voices competing 'Get yourself high/Do it again'
All right reversed. The breakbeat and bass!!
Surface to air always brings me into a higher state
Saturate/EBW8 as amazing especialy the visuals. Exploding pong balls enlight the venue with the drumbreak. And the way Believe is mixed into it sounds great. 'I need to believe' followed by the Saturate drumbreak. Goosebumps!
Chemical Beats old school excellence
Das Spiegel very good live with Tom playing a mouth keyboard (or what the hell that thing is called)
The Sunshine underground brings the night to a new climax. I understand why use this track in stead of TPPR
the lesser goods
transition from GYH into HBHG. It's so quick. give HBHG a longer intro, a bigger tease please.
Out of control/Star guitar I think I heard that too many times. Don't fight it feel it makes it fresh
We are the night great track on the album I just don't feel it live. And again the fast transition to the Golden path. Please a bit longer.
Acid children vocal sample into Chemical beats is good but I miss EBW 7.
And I would love to have heard EBW 9 aswell.
the surprise:
a Modern midnight conversation in Amsterdam
I love the new live show. Seen it already 3 times but I'm doing it again in november. 119 days to go.
