Radiohead

Jimi Hendrix

Bob Marley

Nirvana

Rage Against The Machine

System Of A Down (only Toxicity though)

I've discovered Kasabian this week end, it ROCKS, check them out, it's uplifting rock with an electronic feel, reminds me of Primal Scream, but in a different way.

I also love Brassy : same kind of rock/electronic/hiphop (but not in a bad way....) fusion, the singer is Muffin spencer, sister of Jon spencer from the blues explosion, she american, but the rest of the band is british (from manchester, which guarantees quality, doesn't it?). They've supported Soulwax on tour, but I don't understand why they are still not very famous, given the quality of their music.

I liked Kasabian when they came out last year. Went to see the gig and of course got the album.

Anyway... Um... What I listen to that's not electronica are...

Alanis Morissettte,

Jon Spencer Blues Explosion(Now they're just "Blues Explosion"),

Garbage(Not the new one tho),

Smashing Pumpkins, Zwan,

Beck(Can't wait for his new album),

Badly Drawn Boy,

Beth Orton,

Sarah McLachlan,

Jewel...etc

Can't name 'em all cos there're too many...

Kasabian has definetly been one of my best finds over the past year, and 'Clubfoot' is even starting to get limited video play over here on Much Music (and not just on The Wedge, either!).

Yes, Kasabian is definitely a gem. I've turned a few people onto it as well. I can't thank the people here enough for recommending it!

They are starting to pick up steam on a local indie station where I live and people call my store looking for them - can't keep the import in stock. But I am afraid that steam will run out before Sony/BMG get their shit in gear and put out a domestic release! Our radio stations are fickle, just like the listening masses. That should not be allowed to happen, Kasabian are too good to be cast aside. Right now, it's not due out for a U.S. domestic release until May. Maybe sometime in March if we're lucky.
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

About Kasabian, have you guys listened to "Dr. Zapp" and "Lab Twat"?

I think some of you guys have but for those who haven't, I recommend these 2 tunes. They're both lyric-less and so electronica.

You can listen to them at

www.kasabian.co.uk

Go to home page and click the blood for a few times then "RELEASE" will appear. And then look for L.S.F cos those tunes are b-side.

Hope you guys like them ;-)

Soz, I said they're lyric-less. But "Lab Twat" has lyrics.
