has anyone else noticed how peoples list seem to be full of electronic bands :? i thought the thread was about non electronic bands, im afriad Mylo, Air, UNKLE and DAFT PUNK!! are electronic bands. Still, an interesting selection from most people, being young i never really listened to much else apart from dance music.
having said that, id also like to add in:
Rage Against the Machine
Mike Oldfield (its mostly live instuments so weel ignore the occasional sequencer)
Blur (legends!!)
Gorillaz (as above)
Jamie Cullum (sorry iggy :-// )
Jamiroquai
J.T
Madonna
Supergrass
The Gap Band
Brass Constrction
Ceux Qui Marchent Debout (saw them at the Bestival, fecking amazing band, play protable drum kits, banjo, tuba, trumpet etc)

I also love Brassy : same kind of rock/electronic/hiphop (but not in a bad way....) fusion, the singer is Muffin spencer, sister of Jon spencer from the blues explosion, she american, but the rest of the band is british (from manchester, which guarantees quality, doesn't it?). They've supported Soulwax on tour, but I don't understand why they are still not very famous, given the quality of their music.

Anyway... Um... What I listen to that's not electronica are...
Alanis Morissettte,
Jon Spencer Blues Explosion(Now they're just "Blues Explosion"),
Garbage(Not the new one tho),
Smashing Pumpkins, Zwan,
Beck(Can't wait for his new album),
Badly Drawn Boy,
Beth Orton,
Sarah McLachlan,
Jewel...etc
Can't name 'em all cos there're too many...

They are starting to pick up steam on a local indie station where I live and people call my store looking for them - can't keep the import in stock. But I am afraid that steam will run out before Sony/BMG get their shit in gear and put out a domestic release! Our radio stations are fickle, just like the listening masses. That should not be allowed to happen, Kasabian are too good to be cast aside. Right now, it's not due out for a U.S. domestic release until May. Maybe sometime in March if we're lucky.

I think some of you guys have but for those who haven't, I recommend these 2 tunes. They're both lyric-less and so electronica.
You can listen to them at
www.kasabian.co.uk
Go to home page and click the blood for a few times then "RELEASE" will appear. And then look for L.S.F cos those tunes are b-side.
Hope you guys like them ;-)
